I am a regular visitor to your establishment, and I have always enjoyed my visits in the past. However, during my recent visit, I experienced something extremely disappointing and unacceptable.
I came to the restaurant with my friend, who was visiting from another country. From the very first moment, we felt unwelcome. The staff member serving us, named Malak, displayed clear hostility towards us. It gave me the impression that we were being treated poorly because we are Asian.
Malak ignored us for a long time and did not take our order promptly. When we finally received our drinks, my friend didn’t like the Karak, so we wanted to order something else. Malak’s response was highly unprofessional—she insisted we had to pay for the drink we didn’t like and refused to accommodate our request.
When I asked to speak to the manager, she left and only returned after 10 minutes, saying the manager would only arrive in 20 minutes because he was not at the restaurant. What happened next was even more shocking — Malak started shouting at me in front of other guests. When I said I no longer wanted to continue the conversation with her, she went to another table and started talking about me to other guests, openly gossiping and calling me ‘Haiwan’ (animal).
I was humiliated in front of everyone, and this level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable.
I strongly believe that staff members with such behavior and attitude should not be working in a hospitality environment, especially in a place that I used to hold in high regard.
I am bringing this incident to your attention because I expect appropriate action to be taken to ensure this does not happen to any other guest in the future.
