We went for a birthday Friday brunch. Definitely a good looking place, with great potential and easy access. I could see that they are trying to do good, but i would still like to mention a few comments about the service and food. Hoping the management of this place will take a look and maybe consider a few changes.
Brunch starts at 1 ends at 4, lets move it to 5 so you don’t pressure the people to leave. We were a rather large group, and we booked for 2pm, at 3:40 we were told this was the last drinks order. At 4 we felt as if we were pressured to leave, considering they had a half empty restaurant, I don’t see the rush, but thats just me.
Really small portions, like 2 pcs of pasta for each person with other random starters to be shared as well, halfway thru our starters the waiter kept taking the food off our table without asking are you done, i kept taking the plates back 😅. Once done with the small starters, the main course was served… the taste was ok, not 330 qar ok, but ok nevertheless.
As we were celebrating a birthday, when the deserts were served, they were supposed to coordinate with us when to bring out the “cake slice”, or course they didn’t, they brought it out while half the people were at the bathroom or outside for a smoke.. lighting the candle was impossible as they opened the outdoor area and the indoor was supper windy and cold.
Trying the deserts i can say, i only liked the ice cream. The rest were too “bold” for me. I would have enjoyed it even more if the waiter didn’t take the ice cream away while i was halfway thru it and wasn’t looking 😂😂
Of course the staff couldn’t ask questions or communicate since the music was so so loud… for gods sake is still noon time, i couldn’t even hear my own thoughts. The dj needs to read the room.. increase the volume when people enjoy the music and dancing and decrease it when they try to eat and communicate…
I do wish slight changes will be made to satisfy customers, as this place has huge potential. It is so sad to see such small small portions, and such high prices. Their staff was however super nice, and tried to accommodate our every wish as much as they could, considering the loud...

I had high hopes for Roberto’s, but the Thursday evening brunch was, sadly, a masterclass in how to take potential and drown it in salt — quite literally. I’m convinced the chef may have emptied an entire pot into the mains.
Credit where it’s due: the starters were the saving grace. Each one was genuinely tasty and hinted at what the rest of the meal could have been. Unfortunately, everything after that nosedived.
The cocktails? Imagine melted ice cubes with a dash of regret. Overly watered down, they felt more like juice boxes with a sprinkle of vodka than anything crafted.
As if that wasn’t enough, halfway through we had to relocate tables when a nearby group decided that cigars were the perfect dinner companion. Nothing says "bon appétit" quite like a mouthful of smoke.
And then there was the DJ. Playing at full volume. In the middle of dinner. At times I couldn’t decide if I was in a restaurant, a nightclub, or a smoky lounge. Spoiler: none of these vibes blended well together.
In short, Roberto’s Thursday brunch is a confusing mash-up — tasty starters, salty mains, diluted cocktails, and a chaotic atmosphere. Sophistication was promised, but what we got was more like a culinary...
Read moreAfter very hectic World Cup & festive season to end 2022, Roberto’s earned the distinction as our first restaurant visited in 2023.
Having dined at some of their other branches, we had a fairly good idea of what to expect, however we were still pleasantly surprised by the restaurant layout, with the indoor space divided into formal & less formal dining areas including outdoor terraces, and a large & comfortable bar area.
The menu is comprehensive and has all the selections you’d expect from a top notch Italian diner; and more! Pricing is also what you’d expect from a 5-star establishment, however the depth of the menu means there’s a broad enough choice to cater for everyone.
We started with the exquisite La Grande Burrata and Fritto (fried calamari, prawns and zucchini with aioli & tomato dip), whilst our mains were the Branzino (grilled wild seabass) and Costoletta (pan-fried breaded veal chop) which were delicious; so much so that we didn’t have any room left for dessert.
Admittedly Roberto’s is probably not your every day Italian eatery, but it is certainly worth a visit whenever you want a top quality and authentic Italian meal within a...
