First time trying Idam on the top floor of MIA. Extremely beautiful and elegant interior, really loved the Arabic calligraphy and poetry on the carpets and chairs.

They had a special caviar tasting menu to celebrate their 10 year anniversary and it was well worth the price and experience. The menu focused on 3 types of caviar, Ossetra Beluga and Sevruga. The whole experience took about 3 hours and I definitely recommend it for a special night out.

It was an 8 course meal but with a couple more surprise courses. Started off with their freshly baked bread and butter and salt. Then we were served with an amuse bouche of small bites topped with lots of caviar. For me the weirdest and maybe not that flavorful dish was the pre starter which was an almond milk mousse topped with caviar. All the other dishes were delicious and beautifully crafted. Then the starter of scallops in a parsley oil topped with lots of caviar, incredible! Then roasted potato with seaweed and savory herb broth, really flavorful.

For the main courses, we started off with Seabass served in a creamy caviar sauce with caramelized chicory, this was my favorite dish, the creamy sweet taste of the sauce and chicory with the salty caviar. Next was the roasted chicken with mushroom and spicy pepper sauce. The last main course was seared wagyu beef with a tarragon and shallot reduction. This made it a bit spicy but paired well with the steak and caviar.

For the desserts we were first served with their citrus composition of loomi/lime ice cream on top of grapefruit skins. This was really refreshing and nice way to end the savory dishes. Next we had the Idam Chocolate which was made of 7 chocolates served with a cocoa sorbet. Finally we had the Apple Tarte Tartin, delicate pastry topped with caramelized apples served with mango & passion fruit marmalade and crunchy brioche bites.

Food: 9/10 Price: 8/10 Location: 10/10

The price was on the high side of 690QR for the 8 course menu, but with the huge amounts of caviar served per dish, it was well worth the price, especially for the lovely service and experience. It was my first time trying so many dishes with caviar and...

Visited for a very quiet lunch. Initially I was the only person present! Having been awarded a one Michelin star last week (and already dined at Alain Ducasse Paris and London), my hopes were very high indeed.

The service and food were absolutely faultless. I will not go through each dish (why spoil it!). Simply put, thought and time has been put into each dish with quality ingredients. All dishes complemented the zero-alcohol pairing (50QAR etc - definitely worth the extra).

At 350QAR (base cost, a worthwhile experience).

So why the 4 stars you may ask? Okay. I do not appreciate "upselling" in any environment. If the menu has been decided by the chef/team - there should be nothing more to add. I was offered "in-season" Truffles (DECEMBER!) to complement each dish - which I accepted. I was then offered "cheeses" to add - which I declined. I then queried if these options were extra. I was told "yes" - 40QAR! This was not clarified at the time of offer and highly unethical (yes, the waiter was very well made aware of my views!). I accepted the Truffles, having been told it was 40QAR - why not?! Anyway, the bill comes it at a whopping 120QAR extra! It turns out to be 40QAR per dish (3 in total!). I do feel cheated with this, as I do not feel it was clearly laid out from outset and didn't really add anything to the dishes.

SO - be fair and clear - upselling is not clever and not acceptable. Deliver the chef experience in one charge.

All in all, bill paid - and one happy diner walked away (although lighter in...

EXTREMELY BAD REPUTATION FOR THIS IDAM MANAGER!

First called that Hiba Hostess had informed me about the situation of the Restaurant and I understood, after a while, they change the time as they cannot accommodate my guest to have dined in the restaurant.

I spoke to the Manager to ask for a solution to welcome the guest and give the revenue, however after a long conversation, the manager is not understanding after I mentioned that I will raise to General Manager in charge and contact the same.

I informed my guest that the Restaurant will be closed at 9 PM due to the maintenance issue in the whole of the Museum and the guest is fully aware, but the Manager argued that how if the guest will stay long in the restaurant, how if they will not enjoy in the restaurant and so on.,

I politely ask the Manager to welcome the guest and also inform the same that Idam Restaurant will close due to maintenance as I informed the guest before departing to Idam.

The Manager completely doesn't coordinate well after a long conversation, and I should mention this will go to the...

This was one of my favorite dining-experiences ever due to the menus composition of classic-with-a-massive-twist, super tasty and surprising flavours and textures!❤️ Also, the non-alcholic pairing/mocktails menu was so interesting and fresh 🍸🥃But not least the night was so pleasant and unique due to the outstanding attentiveness of the staff; I dined alone, but I was surrounded by kindness and what felt like genuine interest in making it a night to remember! I was even invited to the kitchen to meet the chef, the talented and kind Mr.Fabrice Rossi, and congratulate him on his very well deserved Michelinstar!🌟 Before the concluding tea, I watched the incredible view of Qatars skyline from the balcony outside🙏🌃 Truly a night to cherish and remember, and I recommend this gem to anyone going to Qatar🏆👍🥰 Thank you IDAM!🌞
