The fact that this restaurant is located in a kitschy area doesn’t bother me—what really ruined the experience was the complete lack of hospitality. They practically begged us from the street to come in, and we were a group of 11 people including kids, so we gave it a chance.
Only one other table was occupied on the terrace, but the music was blasting so loud that the server couldn’t even hear us properly. When I politely asked to lower the volume, she said she couldn't because “that’s how it is in the Old Town.” Strange logic for a place that’s supposed to offer a pleasant dining experience.
She took notes on how spicy we wanted our doners—some mild, some hot—but forgot which was which when serving them. None of them were actually spicy, even the ones we requested to be. Apparently, if you want extra spice, you need to pay extra. The price is double that of a normal shaorma, and honestly, the addition of goat cheese didn’t make sense taste-wise.
All in all, zero hospitality and a clear focus on making money over offering a decent customer experience....
Read moreThe food was really good. The reviews that talk about the service being somewhat unfriendly are pretty accurate. For whatever reason I find that not uncommon in Bucharest, so I don't know that I would fault this place in particular. That being said, other than the person behind the food counter that took my ticket with the order on it, everyone else was perfectly fine. Most importantly, the food was delicious. You pay first at the little booth near where you enter and then hand over the little ticket at the counter where the fellow gave me just a bad look because I didn't know if you needed to set it down there or wait till they acknowledge you and hand it to them and wait. It was a little bit busy when I went about 8:00 p.m. but I really didn't have to wait long at all for...
Read morei tried their vegan option (falafel🌯), and dare i say, it tasted almost like chicken😆 i thought they messed up my order. on a more serious note, i liked their flatbread (lipie), i got the pink one died with root beet, and it was so soft and tasty, not your ordinary store bought lebanese wrap. well assembled, with a handful of ingredients to keep it simple, not drenched in sauces, it was all in all a very good experience. their vegan garlic sauce was super tasty, and we also liked the fried potatoes, which were round cut. on the down side, their site is not working for now (at least from the 2 devices from which i tried), i went there personally for my order (it was on my route). the waiting time was a bit long (15 min vs the 10 min advertised on the board) even tho there...
