I was quite good there! The place is nice and the most appreciated thing was THE STAFF. Everyone was super nice, gentle, polite n more, they treated me quite well. Reception is at the first floor of this building who seems ancient (remember, not old), seems like and historical place. Wall stairs are well decorated, and when you enter the place feels familiar, like going home after a long trip, I found it really pleasant. My room was at first floor and the staff suggested me to go 2nd floor to take a hot shower, they showed me the place and accompanied me to my room and my bed. The room was neat and simple, classical beds and super comfortable. Sheets were fresh and neat, cushion is squared and the duvet keep you hot during nights, even if it was cold outside I slept with a T-shirt and was ok. Rooms don't have lockers but you can ask the staff for it, they have so you can keep your things but I didn't had to use it! Bathrooms aren't that special but they have the essentials and are functional that's what matters. They have hot water (I've read on booking that they hadn't) and I don't know how the Wi-Fi works since I didn't use it but they have. The thing I appreciated the most was the fact that every room has its own code to enter, and after an hour everything is locked so you can enter the building with your codes (that obv the staff give you when you arrive) so it's quite safe. Even if is in the center and Bucharest is a city that don't sleep at night I didn't had particular problems with street names club noises, instead my roommate was snoring quite loudly so I didn't slept in the...
Read moreWe stayed here for three days, we were part of a theatre festival- the ten of us. 12 people in a room, but that’s something you kind of expect from a hostel. On the first night : loads of people drinking way over the limits of conscience in the reception lobby. The music was loud, people talking loud enough to be heard from the higher floors. That wasn’t even the worst part! The doors have passcodes, each supposedly unique. Still, during the same day, four people entered our room claiming they’ve been told it was theirs and wouldn’t leave. They’ve all been given the code to our room. A lady even walked into our room at 1:30 o’clock in the night, demanding we make space for her to sleep in our room because that’s what the receptionist told her. When we went to discuss it with the people working there, they were unaware of three different teenage theatre companies staying at their hostel, most of the actors being minors. ||Second night: music loud-yet again, but this time it was our room neighbours playing it. The doors between the rooms are closed but not locked and merely blocked by tiny depositary cubes stacked to something above hip level. People tried opening the doors between rooms multiple times. ||||The mattresses on the beds felt more like toppers, they were very, very thin and the beds unstable and squeaky. ||We didn’t have curtains or heating, even though the temperatures outside were well under 10°C at night. We had two barely-functioning heaters to warm up that historical, tall room, which-as you can probably tell- didn’t do the trick. ||||Honestly...
Read moreThe location and price of this hostel is amazing however, the cleanliness and quality of sleep was not.|The room sleeps 8 people and on the same floor, there is a kitchen area and bathroom. ||The beds were very uncomfortable. The mattresses are only inches thick so I could feel all of the metal bars underneath. When we got to our room, the man who showed us there was unsure whether my friends blanket was someone else’s clothes or not which didn’t fill us with a lot of hope. |The bathroom on this floor was disgusting. I was unsure of whether the toilet was leaking or if someone had missed but the floor was soaking the entire time. The sinks were blocked and the cubicle doors had gaps in them so you could see in. ||The staff were lovely and the price was amazing. I think if they got some new mattresses then it would have been...
