I really hate to do this, but this is NOT true Korean Bbq and it’s sad, because in reality Korean food is extremely good! Service and atmosphere was good for Romania (where service is just terrible all throughout, there’s almost no customer service anywhere you go). The kimchi soup was OKAY, but the rest is just trash.. the Samgyeopsal isn’t the right cut, it’s just cheap pork belly. The beef bulgogi and the LA Galbi should be taken off the menu: the marinade nor the quality of beef were good. Beef in Romania isn’t great at all, but the marination was just NOT AUTHENTIC WHATSOEVER. I won’t even mention the banchan, because it was just bad.. The Japche was extremely salty and had too much sauce to it, they did too much to it. The soondooboo came with the egg already in it, but unfortunately it was poached hard, therefore the yolk wasn’t soft and able to enhance the flavor, as it should. The ssamjang was okay, but still not the real recipe. There was no Chadolbaegi (thin sliced brisket) on the menu, which is standard to have in KBBQ.
I understand that this is not Korea, but it doesn’t have to be Korea for it to be good. There are plenty of Korean restaurants all throughout United States and they do a really good job at sticking to the original recipes, so it’s definitely doable.
It’s just upsetting that some people don’t have any other experience to compare it to what it’s supposed to be, and it’s a shame because it’s such a good cuisine and it certainly isn’t supposed to taste like this. Sorry guys! We were really looking forward to this and it is truly an honest review. Reading the other reviews saying this was the best kbbq they’ve ever had is just crazy and...
Read moreA culinary delight with a side of Pinkey!
If you’re looking for a dining experience that combines delicious food with top-notch service, look no further than Jeonjuu Korean BBQ!
Our recent visit was not just a meal; it was a delightful experience filled with mouth-watering flavors, fun, and, of course, our lovely host, Pinkey, with a smile that could light up the whole restaurant. I think she secretly moonlights as a therapist because she could sense our cravings even before we voiced them!
As the meat was sizzling on the grill, Pinkey was there, flipping and assisting like she was orchestrating a grand symphony of flavors. She even brought over a selection of sauces and side dishes and joked about of how they might just be more addictive than binge-watching our favorite series! (Spoiler alert: she was right!).
We can’t wait to come back – mostly for the food, but also for another dose of Pinkey’s charm!
5 stars, two thumbs up, and a big thank you to Pinkey from the bottom of our full hearts...
Read moreIf you want to eat your meal in peace, make a reservation. ☺️ We went without reservation and we had the table only for 40 minutes, so after we ordered we had to hurry which made our experience less enjoyable. The waiter literally came to close the table as we still had meat on the grill. 😂 I think they should not accept the order knowing the amount of time needed for the entire barbeque order and just recomend already cooked food. And the waiter definetely should not propose us to take the raw meat to go, as there were like 37 celsius degrees outside! 🥵Anyway, don’t order the barbeque package if you don’t have at least 1,5 hour interval for the barbeque.
Quick sugestion for the restaurant, better confirm the next reservation before you ask people to close the table. Cleaning the table takes max 3 min.
P.S: we walked through Old Town a little bit and after 15 min on our way home we passed by the restaurant again and the table was still empty. 😅 We will come back anyway to check the...
