Bucharest Korean Food Guide đŸ‡°đŸ‡·

A very good restaurant, and the fact that so many Koreans come here to eat is also a good sign. The food is excellent and diverse (also includes dishes such as kimbap, kkanpunggi or tangsuyuk, which would fit within the range of choices for those who are not particularly accustomed to Korean flavors - such as kimchi - but still want to have a taste of that cuisine), comes with a nice selection of banchan (side dishes), and the price (although not small) is rather fair for an Asian restaurant (a bit over the average price range of the Japanese restaurants in Bucharest). Also, the dishes transliteration in the menu is rather funny, but it's understandable since not everyone can read hangul and in Korean the consonants can be read in slightly different ways. They also have Korean drinks such as soju and makgeolli. Not exactly cheap, but at least they are authentic. Although in a residential area, the location is rather easy to find (about 10-15 minutes walk from the Triumphal Arch), it's quite big and the atmosphere is nice (music is mostly k-pop). A downside would be that the service can be rather slow if there are too many customers, especially on weekends.

You can easily consider this a hidden gem in Bucharest. I've never been to Korea so I can't vouch for authenticity, but the food is great. The staff is very kind and they move fast with everything. Don't be discouraged by the shabby looks of the place and the slightly confusing way to reach the restaurant in the building ( I had to follow my nose, some signs might be of use since you have to go to the top floor and there are so many doors and hallways). To sum it up, even if the prices seem a bit high, this place is overall awesome, offering a delicious bite for everybody. The staff is kind enough to recommend dishes according to your level of "experience " with this type of food, and they do a great job at identifying what might suit you best. I went YOLO and went against theyr warning because I eat spicy. Side note, if they say it's spicy, it really is.

Cool experience. The atmosphere was fine. The booths are nice, they offer quite a lot of privacy. The staff was ok, it took them a bit to get to us after calling the bell, and a couple of times they didn't show up at all despite the restaurant not being crowded at that time. I get it though, maybe they had some other stuff to take care of at the same time and those 2 calls weren't for super important reasons so I can't say it bothered me too much. Other than that, they were friendly. The food was good and arrived pretty quickly. Nothing super special, lots of the dishes can also be made at home, but I have no complaints about the taste of the food or anything. We also got some meat for the bbq and altough I appreciated the attentiveness during the process, I think it was a bit too much. When we ordered it, we were told by the waitress that she was going to help us with it. Nice. Cool. But then she cooked an entire batch for us, showing us how to do it. We had only ordered two lol. Again, I do appreciate the help, but I guess I was expecting her to just be at our table and explain the process and maybe watch over us for a bit to make sure we don't accidentally burn the place down. Not gonna lie, I was a bit sad, but fortunately we did get to cook half of the second batch. This was mostly a mistake on our part, my assumption was wrong and then I got too embarrassed to say anything, maybe we could have done it completely on our own if we would have said something. It would be nice if the staff asked the customers how much help they wish to get, I think it would make things clear for everyone. Having had said all of the above, I'd say coming here is more than eating, it's an experience. And...

I have dined at this restaurant on three occasions. The food was generally good; however, the lack of physical menus was inconvenient. Instead, they provide a digital menu, but the images often fail to load, making it difficult to see what you are ordering.

I was also expecting traditional Korean metal chopsticks, but instead, we were given standard wooden ones, the kind commonly found in stores. The packaging even featured Japanese writing, which seemed out of place in a Korean restaurant.

While the food quality was decent, I found the prices to be excessively high. On the plus side, complimentary side dishes were provided, including pea pods, kimchi (which appeared to be store-bought and overly diluted), and cold, pre-made purée balls.

The wait time was approximately 20 minutes, which is reasonable. The ambiance does contribute to the experience, but not enough to justify the pricing. Additionally, the dessert selection was disappointing—although the menu lists three options, only one was actually available, and it tasted quite bad.

In comparison, I have had more authentic and affordable Korean food in Bucharest. However, if you are looking for the overall dining experience rather than just the food, this place might still be worth considering. I would recommend bringing at least 200 RON per person to cover a main dish, dessert,...

This was the worst experience with Asian cuisine. I ordered something I already know, and unfortunately, it didn’t match what was shown in the picture on the restaurant’s website menu, nor was it prepared in a classic way. First, they brought me extremely spicy food. I specifically asked for “no spicy.” “No spicy” sounds the same in every language, and I think it’s impossible to misunderstand that.

Secondly, I ordered California sushi for takeaway, but, to my surprise, I found out that California rolls can apparently be made with canned tuna instead of classic tuna, and instead of avocado, they added some strange carrot. The cucumber wasn’t fresh; it was pickled, and there was just a tiny bit of sauce, so the sushi wasn’t fully covered in it. This is the worst experience.

I ordered three dishes and a Coke, leaving almost 40 euros at this place, and I am catastrophically dissatisfied. When they brought my takeaway bag, there were no napkins or utensils, and I had to check the bag and ask the waitress to bring utensils. I got the napkins myself. This is the worst experience. I do not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. Oh, and be prepared to wait a very long time. I waited almost 40 minutes...
