California Diner — Restaurant in Arbat District

We were stopped on Arbat by the guy handing out 20 dollar bill flyers which could be used to get 20% off your drink inside. We decided to check it out so he led us downstairs of the diner which was super atmospheric. However, after being seated no one approached us for over 15 minutes. A 6 people table that got seated after us was approached almost immediately, our waitress was nowhere to be found. After deciding that I don’t need a veggie burger that bad with this kinda service we moved to the bar to at least take advantage of the 20% of our drinks. The bartender was slammed (probs making the 6 top drinks) and we had to wait another 10+ minutes but he was hustling hard and it’s totally understandable. The bartender working around 10 pm on Thursday night was great and the second star in this review is for him only. Route 66 sign and pictures of Marilyn Monroe will not provide an American service for you. Also, they charge for coke separately when you order a jack n coke which is basically as UNamerican as saying that the bald eagle isn’t majestic af. Wish I could’ve tried and reviewed their food...

Sometime ago it was a lovely place with great atmosphere and music, now things have changed a lot: Hostess wasn't very attentive as she have welcomed guests that came after us first, so they took last free seats. Luckily (or not), there were few seats left on the ground floor. Waitresses were sleepy and it was normal to confuse orders (we've waited a lot for any attention and got it only after direct question). Hot dessert with Ice Cream was served before dinner with meat. Meat was cold. They totally forgot about drinks (tea) so we've had to remind about it few times, so we've got it only at the end of our dinner.

Prices are too high for that kind of service.

By the way desserts were tasty, but it was the only good thing...

There was a big problem, first we had been told that after 10 pm everything with alcohol was 50% off, and before I order I asked the waitress if that offer was right, she said yes, but when we got the bill there wasn't any discount, so I asked the waitress about it and she said that she didn't remember that I asked her about it...
