We were looking for a cafeteria in Old Arbat street in the afternoon and decided to walk into this place, with no previous reference. I thought this was a coffee shop, but waiter provided an extensive English food menu The menu offers a lot of typical and delicious Russian, Ukrainian and Belarussian dishes. homemade pickes, varenykes of all various kinds, great shashlik, fantastic oblepichovyj tea, siberian dumplings, dumplings with potatoes and mushroom, soups, salads. They serve also the dessert are very taste, Napoleon tort is highly recommended. Coffee and cappuccino are very taste. A cappuccino and a cake priced around 500 rubles The food is very reasonably priced and the staff is very courteous and the service is quick. Even if the staff didn`t speak a lot of English, they are extremely friendly, helpful and also efficient. The service was a little slow but I really don't mind because the place was full of people (it was Sunday!) The interior is decorated in Soviet era style, also the location is really nice too, on the pedrestian area. Good and taste food! What a perfect decision! Food here was perfect, We were really happy with our breakfast and the place is definitely...
Read moreWe came here in a group of 5 after checking out the good review of 4.3 for Russian Restaurant on google along Arbat street. The ambience and the attire worn by the waitresses were quite nice but I can't say the same for the food. This was our 3rd russian meal and the least enjoyable of all. Not that the food is bad, but it's just so so. Perhaps our expectations were high (after eating at Old Tower near Red Square). The fried potatoes with bacon, and the little pies with potatoes and mushrooms (that looks like curry puffs) were the tastier ones. I enjoyed the Siberian beer but the honey beer was a disaster for us. Although the service wasnt great, but it's understandable due to the crowd. We still decided to put in a 10% for their tip as we knew the waiting staffs depend alot on tips. Overall, this would still be a decent place to enjoy some russian food in a great environment with lively music. But dont expect world class...
Read moreHere we asked for some vareniki(2 portions) and draniki with smetana and paid around 700rubli which I consider being quite a good of a price. As for the taste it's also really nice, but portions could be a little bit bigger. This place is worth visiting just for its interior design, it's decorated in Soviet style, but at the same time you don't feel like you're visiting some old lady's home. One thing that surprised me is a bathroom, for some reason they have only 3 cabines both for men and women. Taking into consideration the size of a restaurant it's too small, so expect to find a line here. Also the stuff is treating people respectfully but they are not very nice...
