I had high expectations for this restaurant’s breakfast after hearing so many positive recommendations, but my experience has been incredibly disappointing each time I've visited. This recent visit, however, was by far the worst.
From the beginning, the staff spoke to us in a dismissive and unwelcoming way. One hostess insisted we sit at a table in a cramped corner near the kitchen, which was uncomfortable and far from an ideal dining spot. Despite there being plenty of other tables available, she was adamant about us taking that one, and her explanations kept changing when I questioned it.
Then, another staff member approached us, and instead of speaking directly, she showed her phone, using a translation app to tell us to either sit at the specified table or leave. This was already frustrating and felt impolite, but when I tried to document this by taking a picture of the translated message, she went as far as pulling my hand.
This behavior is unacceptable in any setting, much less a place that’s supposed to offer a positive dining experience. The lack of courtesy and professionalism from the staff was truly disheartening. I won’t be returning, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone expecting to be treated with respect and...
Read moreToday we visited Conversation for breakfast. The interior is cozy, giving off a charming family-owned restaurant vibe. The staff were very friendly and warm, and they even provide coloring materials to keep kids entertained.
However, the space is quite small, with tables close together, making it difficult for strollers to enter. You may need to leave the stroller outside.
For breakfast, we ordered pancakes and a hot waffle with poached egg and avocado, accompanied by cappuccinos.
The coffee had a stronger milk flavor than we're accustomed to, so I'd rate it 5/10.
The blueberry pancakes were delightful and reminded me of Starbucks' blueberry muffins, earning a 9/10. Highly recommended!
The hot waffle with poached egg and avocado was nice but rather standard, so I'd...
Read moreA wonderfully quaint and delicious cafe situated rather near to Arbat Street. They sell many types of food, ranging from breakfast sets to waffles and pancakes and much more. But the highlight of the cafe would have to be the cakes. Although all the items on the menu are rather pricey, the portions are huge, enough to satisfy even the most hardcore of cake lovers. There are many different type of cakes, each of them with their own unique twist to sate your sugary needs. So definitely recommended to check this place out if you're in the area.
P.S You would need to call ahead and book a place if your planning to go during rush hours. My advice, just call and make a reservation whenever you're going just to be safe. Don't worry, they know English and you don't need to...
