I visited Afripot Naija in Kimironko, Kigali after a car appointment in Nyamirambo and driving through Remera. The restaurant is tucked just behind the Bank of Kigali branch in Kimironko, on KG 40 Street. If you’re driving, it’s fairly straightforward: from Nyamirambo, head toward town on KN 2 Avenue, continue on Airport Road through Remera, past Amahoro Stadium, and straight into Kimironko. Once you pass Kimironko Market, the Bank of Kigali will be on your right turn right just after it and Afripot Naija is a short distance down that inner street. Parking is available on the roadside, but make sure you don’t block any driveways. The food was worth the trip. I had egusi soup with beef and stockfish, served with eba, and shared the meal with a friend. The egusi was absolutely fantastic rich, flavorful, and well-balanced without being overly oily. For me, it was a perfect 10/10. The eba had a smoother texture compared to the garri I’m used to in Nigeria, where I prefer the rough, grainy type. Still, I could tell they had improvised with the variation of garri available locally, and it turned out really well. Even though it was different, I’d still rate it a 10 because it was well-prepared and complemented the egusi perfectly. Service was friendly and the food came out in good time. The space is neat and has a simple, home-style feel that makes you relax and enjoy your meal. Takeaway is also available and packed properly if you prefer to eat later. If you’re craving authentic Nigerian food in Kigali, Afripot Naija is definitely worth visiting. My only suggestion would be for them to consider sourcing rougher garri for those of us who miss the traditional bite, but even with the smoother version, it was an excellent meal. I’ll be going back, especially for that egusi. Added the receipt too…

First time ordering from here and asked that it be delivered. I don't know if the negligence in food presentation/quality was because I wasn't dining in or because that's how bad it generally is🤔 For everyone's sanity, there should be an actual Nigerian or someone who is fluent in English answering calls to receive orders or something. Cuz I still can't comprehend how/why an order which I gave specifically asking it to be spicy came without it plus it tasted so BASIC! Not to talk of how long it took before I received it... The vegetable soup I know(which is advertised on the page menu as well) is rich with tomatoes and spices amongst other things. But, this tasted like chopped, steamed "green" vegetable, with some added seasoning & oil(I could see the separation between waster and oil). JUST IMAGINE HOW THAT TASTES WITHOUT PEPPER IF THAT'S THE TASTE PALATE YOU'RE USED TO?!! Should I talk about the coconut rice? I wish I ordered jollof instead (may be that would have tasted better I guess). The only thing that signified it was coconut rice was coconut flavour; besides that, it was all mushy and very unappetizing without proper garnish (I could count the number of cubed carrot slices). The fried chicken was obviously not fresh cuz it tasted like it was getting stale. Overall, I definitely didn't get the worth of my money. Your price isn't that cheap to not be intentional about what you serve and how it's served. I still think we got this poor quality of everything because we didn't dine-in. Y'all should do better!!

It took a hour for us to understand each other to place the order. Then an hour to cook the order because they made it fresh to the order. I had white rice with stew and beef. The beef was strong too strong to bite and chew and dry. I also had a side of green vegetables They were extremely salty. Husband had the vegetable soup with rice It was supposed to be with beef and fish but instead they gave him Pomo. The fish was good. Then it took an hour for the transport to find us. The food was still hot when it got to us So that's why I raised it to three star, but it was missing the plantain in both dishes. Overall the customer service was outstanding. However, for making the food fresh to take over an hour It didn't taste as fresh as it should. I would say a compliment would be that they will just message with you if that's what you want to do and figure out exactly what you want and how you want it. Give the customer service rep a raise or a bonus. She is who earned it...
