Location: First floor in Kigali Heights looks to be a central area at least CBD like.
Ambience: Quite cheery and bright. Perhaps the Management can invest in insect control, on my first visit, we sat indoors quite away from the entrance and we were bugged by a very persistent house fly.
Staff: Warm and can be quite persuasive, my first try was thanks to the persistence of one of the staff stationed out front, menu-in-hand (E.U, her name initials).
Food: I was prepared to fall in love again with some Italian favourites, but it wasn't my day for love. I had lasagna which had been pre cooked so needed to be microwaved on order (my exclusive deductions on sighting and tasting). The lasagna may have be microwaved without cover as portions of the top were burnt black and crisp. The plating and presentation was fair. The tiramisu cake was ok nothing mind blowing. And on a another visit to try out the ice cream, it was ok, I guess, then again, I'm not big on ice cream. I sat outside this time and wasn't bugged by any house fly persistent or not. Drinks: our cocktail (mocktails more like) orders came hot, not chilled as we had expected, we had to request for ice for them. That was...
Read moreI didn't really get photos of the food because we was on TikTok live at the time. I had the lasagna My husband had the spaghetti bolognese with sauteed vegetables on the side. I kind of expected it to come with it It doesn't every Italian restaurant I've ever gone to but I've never been to an Italian restaurant in Africa so I didn't know it didn't come. I ordered bread with it so I got some toasted sourdough flatbread brought to me. I figured it would be some kind of a Italian bread garlic bread something like that but it was basically what you would make a panini with. It took over 30 minutes just to get bread after taking over an hour to...
Read moreThe atmosphere was beautiful as usual as it’s located inside the mall. Was a cool Sunday evening so the outdoor seating was perfect.
The ice cream was the star of the show though. We ordered the long tray with the 3 flavours (forgotten the name); had chocolate, oreos and one other flavor. It was amazing and the fruits and extra nuts added to the plate made every single spoon taste so good.
The food we ordered wasn’t the best. We ordered pizza and it was really bland; had no taste to it and it looked very very basic. I’d expected more from an “italian” spot.
The chicken steak made up for it though. It was really nice and the salad that accompanied it went well together with it.
Overall, a strong 7.5…would go back again and again for...
