I recently had the pleasure of dining at a Turkish restaurant in Riyadh, and I must say it was a delightful culinary experience. Offering a wide range of grills, shawarma, kebab, side dishes, traditional food, rice options, and mouthwatering desserts, this establishment truly impressed me with its diverse menu.
The standout feature of this restaurant is undoubtedly the delicious food. Every item I tried was bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. From the succulent grills to the aromatic kebabs and mouthwatering shawarma, the culinary journey through Turkish cuisine was nothing short of exceptional. The clay utensils used to serve some dishes added a unique touch, enhancing the authenticity of the dining experience.
The pricing of the menu items was another positive aspect. With moderate prices, this Turkish restaurant offers excellent value for the quality and taste of the food provided. Whether you're visiting for a casual lunch or a special dinner, the affordability of the menu makes it an accessible option for various occasions.
Beyond the delectable cuisine, the ambiance of the restaurant was captivating. The interior was beautifully decorated, immersing guests in an inviting and pleasant atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the first-floor seating area designed exclusively for children, complete with animal statues that created a charming natural zoo-like setting. It's a thoughtful addition that ensures families can enjoy their meal while their little ones are entertained.
However, the absence of a printed menu was the only downside I experienced during my visit. While the staff was attentive and provided verbal descriptions of the dishes, having a physical menu would have been more convenient and allowed for easier reference and decision-making.
Overall, my dining experience at this Turkish restaurant was a memorable one. The exceptional variety of delicious dishes, moderate pricing, and enchanting ambiance make it a top choice for Turkish cuisine enthusiasts in Riyadh. With the addition of a printed menu, this establishment would undoubtedly enhance its customer experience...
Read moreAssaraya was introduced to me by my husband as I am new to the country. I have been here on 2 occasions and I did not leave disappointed. We are a family of 5, 3 kids and 2 adults. The menu offered a variety of dishes which made ordering for picky kids quite easy. We ordered a mix grill, chicken, fries and an appetiser of baba ghanoush with the turkish bread. We ordered a few different drinks to sample which was affordable accompanied with our water which was cheap. Every dish was delicious and tasy especially the mixed grill. The chops was soft and succulent and reminded me of home. We ordered a big portion of fries which we were surprised to see that it was actually the size of a single serving. The fries were served with tomato sauce (ketchup) and their homemade garlic sauce which is the BEST garlic sauce I have ever had in Riyadh. You can taste that it was prepared in-house with fresh garlic. It has the consistency and texture of a soft paste. On both occasions I asked to take the sauce home :) The staff were friendly and hospitable and we loved that they offered dining behind a curtain for extra privacy for myself and my daughters. The food was served fast and quick which is a bonus for hungry diners. Assaraya is definitely one of our favourite restaurants in Riyadh and will see...
Read moreWe’ve been visiting this restaurant since 2004 although it’s been quite a while since our last visit. Astonishingly, in spite of all the price hikes in Riyadh lately their prices are still very reasonable and the quality of the food was fantastic. For our group of seven (including kids) we paid around 260sar and this included 8 large fresh juices. Be aware that the menu prices are exclusive of vat.
The lamb kebab, chicken Shish kebabs and half chicken were all juicy and hot and fresh. The hummus, mutabbel and baba ghanouj were all very tasty and came with the huge, complimentary Turkish bread that Assaraya is known for. More available on request.
The place gets extremely busy on weekend evenings in particular but there’s plenty of seating spreading over three floors. You’ll also find somewhere to pray inside the restaurant and even out on the street! Communication between your waiter and the guy bringing food from the kitchen isn’t always top notch so check for missing and wrong items!
Oh don’t forget to go to the first floor to see the crazy array of taxidermied animals (can’t confirm if they’re real or fake) including two foxes on a bike!
Overall very pleased with our visit and hope to...
