Nice ambiance & music. Great service. The Peach Sake mocktail was refreshing & good. Spinach salad excellent & unique. Yellowtail Serrano fresh & very good. Lobster tempura was not good and didn’t really taste like lobster and tasted frozen. Waiter on his own initiative sent it back and came back with a new one but was only tasted slightly better. Eggplant Miso chunky & very good. Scallops on half shell was overwhelmed by the (average) sauce & we didn’t finish. Wagyu ribeye average with only redeeming factor was it tasted smokey. Miso Black cod tasted better than it looked & was average. It did have a nice foam on the side. King Crab fried rice very good but crab was diced too small & can barely taste, still it was good. I recently dined at Akira Back in Riyadh, and unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. We ordered 13 dishes, and only one managed to meet the restaurant's standards.

While the food was fresh, it felt overcooked and used low-quality ingredients. The side dishes were particularly disappointing; the Brussels sprouts were a letdown, and the tuna lacked any flavor.

The Wagyu taco and the spider roll were underwhelming, failing to deliver the richness one would expect. The miso eggplant had an overpowering orange taste that completely overshadowed its intended flavor. The crispy calamari was forgettable, and the cucumber salad felt sad and uninspired.

Overall, it was a letdown for a restaurant of this caliber. I had high hopes for a memorable dining experience, but it simply didn’t deliver. I would rate Akira Back a 3/10, and I hope they can improve...
