Absolutely fantastic Mediterranean food! The owner was super friendly and clearly cares about the quality of his food and the service provided. He is very kind, and treats everyone like a friend in his restaurant.

I ordered the lamb kebab and my mom got the mahi mahi. I tried hers and she tried mine, and we enjoyed both.

My thoughts are:

The lamb, was without question the MOST FLAVORFUL meat I'd ever had. So complex in flavor, savory and aromatic, yet not overly reliant on salt. I also was blown away by the texture of it, upon first bite it's much like steak. However as I chewed, it became more akin to a firm but juicy hamburger in consistency. I have Never had a tactile culinary experience like that before in any restaurant or recipe. Truly exceptional. 🙏

The mahi mahi was equally flavorful and delicious, flaky but juicy and thick. Definitely my favorite fish to date, and recommend for anyone else who likes fish or is pescatarian. 🐟

The rice is long grain, and very aromatic. I'm unsure if there was saffron or jasmine, but it was delicious and cooked perfectly.

The pita is fresh, and I love it. There's a tzatziki sauce that they do which is absolutely outstanding and my favorite.

I cannot express how very delicious and flavorful every single thing I ate was. Even the vegetables were bursting with flavor, the tomatoes were perfectly blistered, the peppers caramelized just to the right level, everything seasoned outstandingly, a little bit of tart, a little bit of tang, a little bit of flavor from the spices, a little bit of savoriness, overall the best dining experience I've had in Louisville in the 25+ years I've lived here.

Shiraz is in my opinion the best of the best.

The food is spectacular, the vibe of the restaurant is very chill and the atmosphere is friendly, yet above all else The kindness and devotion of the owner to their customers and the quality of their food and experience is exemplary and truly sets the bar for small scale local food.

I genuinely think there should be a Shiraz on every single corner of every single city, but like all great things in excess it will become spoiled. There's no way that they could keep up the quality and standards that they do here, on a scale as large as that. They have three locations I'm aware of, and it will probably remain that way because of the astute detail that they put into every single aspect of their business.

There's a reason Jack Harlow has a bar about Shiraz in one of his songs. Just like he shouts out vincenzo's fettuccine in the song what's poppin', He shouts out the lamb kabobs at Shiraz in a track with DJ Drama called "Mockingbird Valley".
