Street Foodie Žilina — Restaurant in Žilina

I recently visited Street Foodie in Žilina for the first time. Honestly, I was initially confuded, because restaurants that offer a mix of different cuisines and flavors can sometimes lack focus. The menu here is quite diverse, featuring Asian dishes like noodles, pho, bowls, and udon, alongside Indian cuisine and even burgers. Sometimes, less is more, and with such a wide range, I found it difficult to decide what to order.

Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff. The waitress was knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. I'm a big fan of udon noodles, and I rarely find places that prepare them well. However, Street Foodie impressed me—the noodles were cooked perfectly, and the meat was well-prepared and flavorful. The burger I tried was also excellently made.

The atmosphere inside was pleasant, although the location could be better. It’s a bit far from the city center, situated close to railway tracks, which can be noisy. Despite this, I have no major complaints and would happily visit again if I’m...

Unfortunately, it took them over 40 minutes(!) to prepare two massaman curries with shrimps for us. The staff didn’t bother to inform us or come check on us while we were still waiting… I thought the portions were generous for the price (around 9,9€ per curry) but I wasn’t a fan of the taste and I actually had a mild stomachache afterwards, perhaps because I found it very “coconut milk heavy” (and I usually love all kinds of curry and coconut-based soups).

Disclaimer: This was my first time trying “massaman curry”, therefore I cannot tell if it tasted authentic or not. It could have been just a bad day...

The Tikka Masala was pretty good. But the vermicelli dish my wife had the noodles werent cooked. At first she said it was fine she just wont eat the noodles but I said no tell them. So she did and they talked down to here but ultimately they gave her a new one to go and when we got home we tried it and it was better. Its a good place with some diversity of menu that is nice in Slovakia but they have a ways to get to authentic flavors for the indian and...
