As the most of us do, before visiting Bratislava and book a hotel, we searched through many different hotels and botels, in order to find an affordable but also nice hotel.
From the beginning Pressburg attracted our attention. Maybe it was the fact that we have never stayed in a botel before, maybe it was that its rooms seemed rather larger in compare to others nearby botels, at that price. And therefore, before we booked, we 've read almost all the comments. I have to confess that we were a little worried since we read some comments like "they didn't cleaned the room" or "staff was unfriendly" but we decided to give it a try and we didn't regret it. By no means i don't say to not pay attention to all comments or that Pressburg was the best hotel i ever spent my vacation in my life BUT you should take into consideration that people in other places and cultures might behave differently than we are used to.
Yes or even better -maybe- since i want to be absolutely fair to all-, maybe it's a fact that a lot of people that work in the tourist industry of Bratislava, especially the younger ones, are treating tourists and visitors with cold smiles and faces (at the best case scenario) or even worse with rudeness (at most cases). Spending a whole week, we managed to visit so many different bistros, restaurants and tourist attractions and we concluded that it wasn't something personal against us. It is what it is and maybe it's the cultural differences that make us feel like that way.
Another similar thing i wish to warn you about is that if you wish to have your room cleaned you must leave the door note, otherwise it wont. Someone would argue "but that's how its done" but maybe you are used to hotels service from other EU places where rooms are cleaned automatically every one or three days, without leaving the door note. Similarly in order to have your towels changed, you have to point out that you wish to have them changed and NOT hang them carefully in the bathroom. Just leave them down so it is pointed out that you wish them to be changed.
Breakfast is rather nice and adequate with decent variety. Similarly to previous, if you wish to eat or drink something that has ended, just ask it :)
To conlude i must point out the great location of Presburg and its amazing view. Just 15 minutes away on foot from the old town center, with the wonderful view of Danube and the "UFO" bridge will surely give you unforgettable and relaxing moments.
Pros: -Its position (Nearest Bus and Tram station is 1 minute away, old town center 15 minutes on foot) -Its view (if you are lucky enough and there are rooms available with a view to the river you wont forget it) -Room size (rooms are not small and you wont feel "trapped") -Cleanliness (Main room, bathrooms but also halls and restaurant were all very clean and nice) -Price (i believe prices are affordable to most) -Wifi (excellent signal and speed) -Temperature (at the beginning of winter we were very cozy and warm in our room throughout day and night.
Cons: -some minor incidents with behaviour but nothing particular. As i said before, we felt a little unwelcomed by people in many cases during our 7-days visit in Bratislava but still we had a wonderfull time. -lack of hair dryers. if you really need a hair dryer you better bring one with you since there are not many spare ones available to reception.
Don't miss the chance to stay at one very cozy and affordable botel. I believe you won't regret it and you will have a...

We were really disappointed...||The positive things are that the rooms are exactly like in the photos and that are warm, so for winter that was good! Also I would like to thank katerina from the breakfast and the young lady in the morning shift at the reception which I don't recall the name.. They were the only ones that made us feel welcome and were smiling!! ||Mostly my complains have to do with the staff behaviour.. I'm sorry to say that it was rude and unprofessional.. My partner and I work in customer service in hotels and we know how difficult it is to deal with customers.. But we have some standards.. Almost noone was speaking English and the communication was really difficult! The hotel had only a few rooms occupied and we really felt we were bothering the staff every time we entered the hotel! I could be more specific with the rude attitude, but that is not the point of the review.. I believe the staff needs to be trained to smile, stand up and not deal with the mobiles when the customer is present! Of course speaking English is for sure expected in the tourist industry!||For these reasons our stay was not so pleasant and I cannot evaluate the hotel higher.. I hope things will improve for the...
