Panzerotto style is not like any other italian restaurant in the city. Not only the vibe inside the restaurant and on the hidden terrace reminds you of italy, the friendly owner with a great staff make for a wonderful experience. The food, is a different level. If you have been craving something fried, panzerotto (the moon shaped pastry) filled with mozarella and tomatoes (and anchovies & capari or even ham) hits all the spots. Beware its piping hot when coming to the table, but that just allows you to enjoy your time with a glass of wine/aperol/campari :) once you open up the panzerotto the runny mozarella and the taste of the tomatoes will flood your mouth, and you just won’t be able to stop. But you should not stop there! Order a plate of cucchilici, pieces of fried dough which are a great side dish, and if you can try to grab some arancini (if they are made for the day) and finish up with a tiramisu. Of course the later you come, the less of a chance to get to the desert! They are made to a certain number and get sold out throughout the day! :)
To not forget, on certain days the owner makes special dishes. So do not forget to ask about upcoming specials! We are going for a carbonara on the weekend, and my mouth won’t stop watering just...
Read moreExtraordinary experience! Our small group of coworkers visited this Italian bistro for a quick lunch. We spent much longer time here, but since we had the time to afford it, it ended up really great. The owner of this place is so nice, polite and friendly. He does as he says: The restaurant is not just about the food, it's about the experience. He tried to get to know us a little bit. He explained how the meals are prepared and what are the traditions behind the recipes. The food itself tasted really good although you should expect smaller portions (as in Italy it's common to order more meals per person). The price for a lunch menu is pretty decent considering the location and also what is included in the menu. When we were about to leave, the Internet connection stopped working which meant that it wasn't possible to use the terminal to pay by card. Unfortunately, none of us had cash with them, so we needed to wait. But the owner made it up for us, he cherished us with his stories and even offered a shot of cherry spirit. I can totally recommend this place if you have a time to sit down and relax for a bit, you will be definitely welcomed here and I bet you...
Read moreAs someone fascinated by international cuisine mainly hailing from Asia I never expected to fall in love with this small, but energetic place that makes you feel like you are at a friends house and your friend is treating you to a home cooked meal. Coming in knowing only what arancini are I learned that there is much more to Italy than Pizza or Pasta. Seems like I have a place where Ill spend my lunch whenever in the city.
To anyone coming in: the owner is probably the nicest person I have met who works in gastronomy and take it from someone who works in the field...
