The staff’s attitude was very bad, especially the morning shift team. We arrived at the hotel at night, and it was almost empty. The receptionist gave us a room at the far end of the hotel, facing some buildings and the roof, far from the road and ventilation, even though they had other rooms available. We accepted it, thinking: “As long as the room is good, it’s fine.” When we entered, we found it full of mosquitoes and insects on the floor, including a cockroach and a small green grasshopper flying around. We spent time catching them. This was probably not due to lack of cleanliness, but maybe because of the neighboring roof where the air conditioning compressors are located. The moment we entered the bathroom, we were surprised to find one of the towels dirty, with black stains on it.

Anyway, we spent the night there. The next morning, I politely and calmly asked the receptionist to change the room. He acted as if he was searching, thinking, and consulting with his colleague sitting opposite him, then they both spoke in their own language. Afterwards, he told me, “It’s very difficult, maybe at night, I’m not sure.” I was surprised and told him this is not true—rooms in all hotels are ready by 14:00, or at the latest 15:00. I even told him, “Consider me a new guest. If I check in now, will it be at night?” His attitude, and his colleague’s, was extremely rude, dry, arrogant, and unprofessional. When we left our room in the morning for breakfast, we found the scene you can see in the pictures — the ceiling dripping with dirty water. The same thing happens in the restaurant as well, while people are eating. In addition, the food and fruit run out, and we have to wait a long time; the staff only refill the trays if we call them and specifically ask to have them replenished.

I won’t say much — the pictures speak for themselves. This hotel should be rated at most two stars.

Tatra is not a 4-star hotel as it lacks several key elements expected at this rating. Firstly, there was no daily cleaning, which was particularly disappointing. My twin room was spacious and well-cleaned at check-in, but it was cleaned again only after three days.

The hotel also falls short in terms of premium amenities. There were no bathrobes, the toiletries provided were minimal, and the mini bar options were limited. Additionally, when I asked for an iron and ironing board (see photos), I was given an iron with visible burn marks and residue on the soleplate and a worn-out, flimsy ironing board. This lack of proper maintenance does not meet 4-star standards.

Another issue was that I couldn’t open the window for fresh air because my room faced the street, and the traffic noise was unbearable. As a result, I had to keep the AC on at night, which was not comfortable.

The staff experience varied greatly. While some members at the reception and restaurant were very nice and behaved professionally, others seemed to be just doing half the job, which can affect your experience depending on whom you interact with.

The restaurant gave me a canteen vibe, and the food quality was average. I only had one breakfast out of the four meals I paid for in advance due to the subpar quality.

Side note, the hotel does not allow food orders to be delivered to your room; you have to meet the courier at...

I had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. Overall, everything was well maintained, and there were no significant issues during my visit. The breakfast stood out as particularly impressive, offering a wide variety of options to suit different tastes and dietary preferences. Parking was convenient, with spaces located right next to the hotel, which made arrival and departure smooth and hassle-free.

Although the hotel is not located in the city center of Bratislava, it is within easy walking distance—approximately 15 minutes on foot—which made it accessible while still being in a quieter area. This balance made it ideal for a more relaxed stay.

The staff were consistently friendly and professional. Every interaction, even in passing, was met with a warm smile and a greeting, which created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the shower facilities were perfectly adequate. While the hotel appears to be geared primarily toward business travelers, it also served my needs well for a short leisure stay.

The only issue I encountered was the noise from other guests closing their doors in the early morning hours. The doors tended to shut quite loudly, which could be disruptive. Installing a soft-close mechanism might improve the overall guest experience in...
