I just finished playing in the Polish Poker Championship, and unfortunately I don't have many good things to say. The good: the floor men/women were always very helpful, and the dealers were great, although some of them were inexperienced. This was a record breaking event for the casino, and it's great to see such enthusiasm for live events. The bad: the tournament, once Friday rolled around, descended into chaos. Dealers were required to work very long shifts and come back to work after very few hours sleep. Does the law in Slovakia allow this? I seriously doubt it. Also, many of the players who bought in to the main event even several hours before the scheduled start time were put on a waiting list, and then had to wait up to a few hours to play, essentially being treated as late reg. Not only this, but the system in place for moving from the wait list to a seat was basically a massive mob of people crowded around a desk, with one person trying to get people seated. It was complete chaos with no respect for the players or the casino staff. Also, the people working in the cages were very rude to players, and were clearly overworked and exhausted. It's clear the management of the casino do not care about the players or their own staff. There was no attempt to communicate the most basic information to players, such as the time when registration for different events opens. With one hand they take our money, and with the other give us a middle finger. If you want to play in a big tournament, don't play here. For small events and cash games, it's probably fine. Clearly the casino was not prepared for the size of the event, and, based on the continued chaos through Sunday evening, they are not going to make any adjustments. I definitely won't be coming back for any events,...
Read moreI had the time of my life at the winter polish series. Incredible atmosphere, very affordable buy ins and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming back, I am already crying having to leave to the airport.
The buy in for main was 140 euros with 100k for first, just too good of a series. Cash games are good too.
I have no complaints, just some future developments that other people might like to see as well:
trophy for each event, or at least the 2 biggest events. As poker players, we love getting recognised and while money is important, I know a few of my counterparts would fight it out for the trophy
some staff working too long during the series especially the dealers. While it’s their choice to work such long hours, I think they should either be compensated at higher rates or changed more often
Overall, I can’t thank k Banco casino enough for making me fall in love with the game again and even though I didn’t cash in any events (went out kk v ak, kk vs aa and 10,10 vs 99) I am already looking forward to coming back.
Oh and special mention to the dealer Adele who told me about good things to do...
Read moreSPO Tournamnet was well organised hower they take high rake from the pot 15%( 10% for casino & 10% for dealers) which was almost 50 000 Euro of total pot 335 000 euro... Too much. Rake on cash game 4% cap 20Euro and every pot over 30 euros they take 2 euros for 2 different jackpott, while most dealers do not know what kind of jackpott it is when they got asked... Too much rake on low games specially when pots are small and too high rake in general even though they pay u hotel if u play 6 hours... Vad ventilation inside as people smoking inside. Food quality is very poor. Dealers are good and respektfull while people on the cashier are very cold.... I tried once will...
