Avoid this restaurant at all costs. There were 5 of us, the restaurant was empty. The first 3 people got their food in a reasonable time, while the remaining 2 had to wait an additional 20 minutes – apparently because they “can’t prepare everything at once.” The cheese steak – the cheese underneath was burnt, as if it had been left over from the previous portion it was cooked on. Fried potatoes were ordered as a side, but along with the steak they also served rice – or more like the remains of some risotto – ajvar and onions (I don’t know how that fits with a stuffed turkey steak and fried potatoes, we weren’t at a grill house). The “trio of squid” turned out to be just two kinds, and there was no trace of the stuffed squid. The side dish was potatoes, both fried and with chard, and the squid itself was tasteless and greasy. The Adriatic pizza with seafood (instead of anchovies) was raw. When we commented on that, the reply was that it’s “the water released by the seafood,” but the bottom of the pizza was completely white and uncooked. We recently visited Restaurant Riviera in Piran with a large group of 20 people, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The location is perfect right by the sea, with beautiful views that made our lunch feel extra special.

Despite the size of our group, the service was impressively smooth, friendly, and well organized. The staff were attentive without ever feeling rushed, and they managed to serve everyone’s meals at the same time, all fresh and hot.

The food itself was excellent fresh seafood, perfectly cooked pasta, and delicious local specialties that really showcased the flavors of the region. Everything tasted authentic and made with care. Several of us agreed it was the best meal we had during our trip to Slovenia.

The atmosphere was relaxed yet elegant, with the gentle sound of the sea in the background. For anyone visiting Piran, whether as a couple, a family, or a larger group, I can wholeheartedly recommend Restaurant Riviera. They truly know how to combine great food, professional service, and a stunning location into one memorable...

Beautiful views and pretty good food, however my friend found a hair in her food and notified the server, and he treated it like a joke and said it must be her hair. She’s a redhead, and the hair was white. No apology or offer to make it right, he said that no one in the kitchen has long hair so it must be hers, even though it clearly was not. They did remake her dish, however the experience was a bit off putting and no apology was offered for the incident. Pizza was also advertised to have olives on it, all we received was one (unpitted) olive on the entire pizza, and we were the only ones in the restaurant, so it wasn’t like they were rushed making it.
