Ribja kantin’ca PORTO in Piran is a great spot for fresh and tasty seafood. The setup is simple and efficient — it’s a self-service place where you order at the counter, pay, find a seat, and wait for your food to be ready. Once it’s done, they call you to pick it up, (buzzer rings) and then you just sit back and enjoy.

One of the highlights of our visit was the kind and polite woman at the counter. She welcomed us with a smile and was very helpful in recommending the best dishes. You could tell she really knew the food well and cared about making sure we had a good experience.

We ordered the Prawns and Fried - Vegetables — were absolutely delicious. The prawns were juicy and full of flavor, grilled to perfection. The fried fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and not oily at all. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared.

The place has a casual and relaxed vibe, perfect for a quick lunch or an easy dinner. Prices are fair for the quality and portion sizes. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the food speaks for itself.

If you’re in Piran and craving seafood, this is definitely worth a stop. Fast service, great taste, and friendly staff — we’ll be back for sure. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy good seafood...

The best fried see food we had in Slovenia accompanied by probably the worst service ever. While we were waiting in line to get the table, the waitress encountered us and suggested we should order while waiting in the line because you can't sit at the table without ordering. However the lady at the bar asked us if we had a table because apparently you can't order if you have nowhere to eat. We said we do not, so she didn't let us order food. In the meantime someone from the line had taken a table we waited for. We came back to the line and the waitress came to us again and suggested to lie to the lady at the bar that we have a table to speed things up (!). We sended a person to order while the rest of us waited in the line. The lady at the bar was asking the ordering person if she was with us (which at this point was, subtly speaking, quite inappropriate). So basically we were forced to lie to get the meal (!?) The sea food was delicious although we got it after an hour of waiting and struggling with the staff. This place clearly can't handle the number of guests...

5 stars for the food. Really great (had a mixed platter with several beverages for 2 adults and 2 kids), we ordered at 1830 and got the food 15 min later. In fact the food was so good we ordered more at 1920 (#7 fried calamary and #34 grilled vegetables) ... fast forward to 2015 after several attempts of asking about our order from 55 min ago: clearly they forgot about our order and didn't have the guts to apologize. Instead they lied blatantly and said they had prepared the meal and then looked for me and my wife and we were not there (we sat all the time outside with our kids where all the other guests were seated). They (elder lady and younger lady w/ blue eyes) even claimed that they binned the already prepared food and then did it from scratch because they wouldn't serve us old food.... Bottom line: if you fancy being lied to and treated like idiots this is...
