The following message i wrote to your branch on 2022.
" I'm really not happy with Virgin Active.
My work requires me to travel. I traveled from Cape Town to Qqeberha. The 24/07/ 2022, I applied for a gym contract at your Humewood branch with a lady named Nicole, everything was fine and in order.
I gymed for about a week with no problems until I went back after that, Suddenly my card wouldn't work.
The following day I contacted a manager with the name of Liza at the Humewood branch and he informed me that Nicole has resigned and that She hadn't activated my account. I was told that he would contact me later in the day so we could sort this problem out.
No one got back to me, I was under the impression that the contract I signed was not binded.
The end of the month I came back to Cape Town and the debit order for Virgin active went off.
I phoned your head office and spoke to a guy named Josh, he informed me that the contract was binding.
I asked him to move the branch I gymed at to a cape town branch, that happened on the 12 September 2022 after batteling for a few days.
I went to gym at the Willowbridge Virgin Active, all of a sudden the lights went off due to loadshedding. I went to go speak to a lady with the name of Kelsey, she informed me that there was no generator, when I informed her that the previous gym I gymed at Zone Fitness never gave me these problems, she had a massive attitude and told me that if that's the case then I should go back there and that's exactly what i did! "
The above message was in 2022 and i was under the impression after speaking to a consultant and Paying the full amount to "CANCEL" my contract and i was told i am done with them!
About a 2 weeks ago i got messages stating i owe an outstanding amount from "2022" ?????
I have been in contract with your branch and spoke to a Lady in the accounts department and she told me Llewellyn with be in contact with me the next day. (26/02/2025) as of today i have not yet been contacted and only told every time they will contact me.
So how is there any reasonable way to deal with you people if you are utterly useless!!

I had called to join but only wanted to join at the end of the month was my Planet Fitness was no longer connected to my Vitality. The salesperson agreed and contacted me at the end of the month. I only found out when I was charged the full amount and NOT had it connected to Vitality. In the whatsapp conversations(salesperson initiated this), there is proof I wanted it on Vitality. The salesperson called me from their private number and spoke to me in an almost disrespectful manner saying that i said no to vitality sign up and said they would call me in a moment only to call me from the VA number to speak in that "salesperson" voice for the recording.
Then I reached out to the head of sales at Tygervalley only to have them not get back to me after asking for my id number.
Equipment is still good quality but that service quality from the salesperson and sales manager was horrible. EDIT - Something is always broken and taking months to fix. ย ย ย Read moreThe two star rating is not for the gym but for their cleaning employees. Last night 09-10-22, I went to the shower close to the time that the gym had to close. I entered the shower at 19:45, 15 minutes before closing time, one of the cleaning ladies was sitting in the sauna and when she saw me passing her, she gave me a dirty look and started gossiping with her colleague in their mother tongue, by the way they looked at me I could tell they were gossiping. I was in the shower for 3 minutes but when I left the shower she started making remarks and even walked to my locker to come and look at me and talk to her colleague again, she showed frustration that that she had to mop a few droplets of water. I am not one to say โ oh but itโs your job โ but this time I will say it because I pay my membership on time every month, I try to get as dry as possible before leaving the shower to minimise the cleaning ladies work but that is the kind of attitude one gets for simply using a facility that the gym has for its members and it is in fact THEIR JOB to clean up, whatโs upsetting is that I was well in my rights to use the shower since the gym was not closed yet.
