We have been to this establishment a couple of times before, with some good memories. We decided that we will celebrate my wife's birthday at Zibaldone. When we arrived there, we were met by a person with the name of Adriano. I have never met a host at a restaurant with a personality of a "undertaker" - shocker. He looked at us in a way to say,"and what are you looking for". We mentioned to him that we booked a table. He took some menus and walked to the table. His words, "pick a place to sit" He turned around and walked away. We were stunned. Immediately the atmosphere was not what we have hoped for. The next moment our waitress, Marie, arrived full of smiles, and totally the opposite. We started to relax and enjoy each others company. I must compliment Marie as a very knowledgeable waitress and a real asset to Zibaldone. The food was very tasty, obviously freshly made, from the starters to the deserts. I am a big supporter of cloth napkins in upmarket restaurants. Well done on that. I believe Zibaldone should normally score 5/5 on a review. Unfortunately, one of the owners (Andriano) as mentioned earlier, messed it up. Do you self a favour and work full time in the kitchen. You do not do this establishment any favours by greeting patrons...

Zibaldone was recently recommended and as we had an appointment in Bellville, we decided to give it a try. This upmarket Italian restaurant must serve the best food I have had in a long time and the service was outstanding. Sadly there are just not enough really good Italian restaurants around, offering as many great choices and superb wines. They even have a selection of Italian wines.

We made the mistake of asking for an onion and mild garlic pizza to nibble while deciding on the main menu. It was so delicious we could not stop eating it. This was followed by Pork Fillet served with a Gorgenzola cream sauce on Gnocci and fresh sprigs of Brocolli. My partner ordered Saltimbocca which he found “Tasty, tender and absolutely delicious”. Looking out of the window on the water’s edge, we were transported back to our trip in Santorini where we first tasted “Cantuccini & Vin Santo” a delicious Biscotti which is dipped into a sweet sundried dessert wine. I cannot wait to go...

We’ve been customers for years and we’ve always been very happy with the food and the owners are always there. The staff are well trained and the service is always friendly, attentive and consistent.

I have coeliac disease and cannot eat gluten. There are enough options to eat or be adjusted and they always take great care that my food is gluten-free. I never feel sick afterwards, so trust that it is indeed the case.

Our favourites are the Tagliata di Filetto, Kingklip special dish (when available), Grilled Veal, Asparagus parcels, Baked mozzarella, and my family love the risotto’s, pastas and pizza’s (especially the Mangiafuoco). And off course the Tiramisu and Belgian Dark Chocolate Fondant.

I love that one can get high quality and healthy food (if you choose), have a relaxing meal and feel good afterwards.

Thank you...

We were a party of 3 on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very busy. The service was very quick and efficient. Our waitron was very attentive and made sure our glasses of wine were never empty. The food ordered was hot and very flavoursome. Whilst waiting for the third guest to arrive my wife and I shared the black mussels and garlic, it was great and enough to share. We then ordered the Italian sausage with Penne, Seafood Pasta with plenty of seafood and Ravioli with a Bolognaise sauce. All dishes were delicious. We ended the meal off with a Belgian Dark Chocolate fondant to share. A great evening out. Booking is essential. We also took our own wine and paid R75 corkage. We will definitely go back again.
