I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Nob, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the wholesome environment to the attentive staff, this restaurant truly stands out. Allow me to share my thoughts on the restaurant, the delightful waiter named Gordon, and the delicious food I had the pleasure of savoring.
First and foremost, the wholesome environment at The Nob creates a welcoming and enjoyable dining atmosphere. The restaurant boasts a charming and cozy ambiance, with tasteful decor that sets the mood for a delightful meal. Whether you're visiting for a casual lunch or a special evening out, you'll find yourself enveloped in a warm and inviting setting that enhances the overall dining experience.
Now, let me talk about the star of the show: the exceptional waiter, Gordon. From the moment my party and I were seated, Gordon's friendly and attentive service immediately made us feel at ease. His genuine enthusiasm for his job and his willingness to go above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction truly impressed us. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered excellent recommendations, and anticipated our needs throughout the entire meal. Gordon's impeccable service added an extra touch of excellence to our dining experience at The Nob.
When it came to the food, we couldn't have been happier with our choices. We opted for the combo burger special, which allowed us to choose any two burgers from the selected menu for just R170. We decided on two "Captain with cheese" burgers, and boy, were we delighted. The burgers were not only enormous in size but also incredibly juicy and flavorful. Each bite was a burst of deliciousness, and the combination of perfectly cooked beef, cheese, and the accompanying toppings left us craving more.
Additionally, we ordered a plate of huge wings, half spicy and half BBQ. The wings were a sight to behold, with a generous portion that left us salivating. The spicy wings packed just the right amount of heat, while the BBQ wings offered a delightful tangy sweetness. It was a perfect balance of flavors, and we thoroughly enjoyed the wings as a mouthwatering accompaniment to our burgers.
In conclusion, The Nob is a restaurant that excels in creating a wholesome environment, delivering exceptional service through individuals like Gordon, and serving delicious and satisfying food. The combo burger special, with its value for money and delectable options, is a must-try, and the huge and juicy "Captain with cheese" burgers are a definite highlight. The wings, half spicy and half BBQ, are a fantastic choice for those looking to add some extra flavor to their meal. If you're seeking a memorable dining experience that combines warmth, great service, and outstanding food, I highly recommend visiting The Nob.
Furthermore, I must mention the generous gesture that truly showcased The Nob's commitment to customer satisfaction. Despite our best efforts, my party and I were unable to finish the substantial meal we had ordered. However, to our surprise and delight, the restaurant kindly provided us with "boxes of defeat" to take our leftovers home. This thoughtful gesture not only demonstrated their understanding of portion sizes but also highlighted their dedication to ensuring that guests have a satisfying dining experience from start to finish. The boxes of defeat allowed us to enjoy the remaining deliciousness at a later time, adding an extra touch of convenience and enjoyment to our overall visit to The Nob.
In addition to the fantastic food and exceptional service, I must not forget to mention the wonderful music that graced the atmosphere at The Nob. As my party and I enjoyed our meal, we couldn't help but sway to the infectious beats and melodies that filled the restaurant. The carefully curated playlist added a lively and vibrant energy to the dining experience, creating a fun and upbeat ambiance.

Read moreOn Monday I booked on line. Upon arriving there was no staff out front to greet or help after looking for ten minutes, we ask the barman about our reservation. Turns out they had no clue what I was talking bout despite my confirmation email and text message regarding the confirmation of reservation. After being seated, the waiter said "sit just here", I was confused as he never confirmed if this was indeed the seats we prebooked, and I fully expecting someone to rock and say this is there table. We then waited approximately 15 minutes for someone to take our order. We then found that there were only 2 waiters going around - it was a full house........ Our order was placed, and we were then advised that there large table of 14 people behind us just placed their orders so we MUST place ours now or wait and hour for food. So we did, seemed very rushed. Low and behold our food arrives within 10 minutes while we still trying to finish our drinks.
Burgers arrived, now remember, we were rushed with the order so we made do with what we thought would be tasty. Burger bun was dry and stale, the pieces of bun falling apart like bread crumbs. Above all the patty that should be the star of the show, was so under seasoned, that I found myself asking for the salt. Our whole table was then using salt on our buns.
While we were eating the waiter would come around and shake our cans to see if we were finished with our cooldrinks and pick up our napkins from the table. Elbows grazing our food.
Every time we used the napkin, the lady would remove it from out table. It was bordering on being very annoying.
The rest of the folk by the table took boxes to take their food home(which we actually pitched in the bin the next morning), mine I left the bun and tried to eat the two patties out of the burger on its own.
As we sat there milling over the fact that a better burger could been fried up in my kitchen, with our drinks, the cleaning lady starts wiping table all over us.
Kids wanted to try the burritos (as maybe that would be better), I had it at that point. Asked for the bill and waited another 10 minutes while the only two waiters they had on call that evening decided to help one table of two.
BILL ARRIVED ONLY TO FIND THEY ADD THEIR OWN GRATUITY TO THE BILL.
Sadly I came to this place after seeing rave reviews I had seen on Tik Tok and Instagram. It reminded me that the hype created on social media should not be...

My boyfriend and I visited The Nob on Tuesday evening for their Twosday Special, excited about the idea of enjoying two burgers for R170 and experiencing their popular 16cm burgers. Despite the enticing deal and a pre-booked reservation, our experience was spoiled by a series of service mishaps.
The troubles began with the drinks order – an Aperol Spritz and a cola tonic with Sprite. Unfortunately, they arrived without straws, prompting a self-visit to the bar (not sure if it was expected of me to stir my drink with my finger). The waiter also put them down and left, not asking whether we need anything else or if we would like to order our meals.
When the waiter finally arrived again, seemingly disinterested, she failed to note our order properly and walked away mid-sentence while we will still ordering, resulting in a mix-up with the burgers and a lone side of fries after waiting for more than 30 minutes. What should have been a Caption with Cheese Burger, Chili Cheese Burger and two sides of fries, arrived as a Caption Burger, Caption with Cheese Burger, and one side of fries. We had to communicate this to the floor manager because our waiter was missing in action. Luckily, our oder was sorted out after requesting the correct order twice - third time's the charm, I guess.
To add to the frustration, the tomato sauce bottle arrived with built-up pressure, suggesting a lack of routine checks. Only at billing were we informed about a staff shortage (apparently) and a fully booked restaurant (which should have been accounted for when you're running a special and you already know beforehand that the restaurant will be fully booked), leaving us questioning the absence of communication before we ordered. I would suggest that any issues be communicated to guests during the visit already to promote communication and understanding, and not once the bill is given and a tip is anticipated.
Despite the AMAZING food quality and generous portions, the overall experience was overshadowed by poor service and communication, as well as operational hiccups.
The only thing "defeted" here is The Nob's brand reputation. We will definitely not...
