Kamili Coffee on Long — Restaurant in City Centre

TLDR: This is a good coffee shop for all visitors — socializing, studying, etc. There are plugs, timed WiFi, and good coffee.

This coffee shop is located on a corner in a decent neighborhood of Cape Town. They have a wide offering of good coffee, sweetening syrups, and dairy alternatives like almond milk. Kamili also bakes most of its pastries in house.

The environment is very flexible. There is indoor and outdoor seating. There are tables with plugs, and a bar with stools (but no plugs). Kamili plays a light but lively soundtrack in the background. Whether you’re there to study (like I was) or chat with friends, Kamili will work for you. In exchange for a purchase, you get a free WiFi login. (I’m unsure if the WiFi has a time limit, but I believe it does.)

This is my morning go-to! Service always with a smile and when I get coffee early in the morning I get a free mini croissant. The eggy thingy is a quick breakfast egg and bacon muffin for just R15 which used to be my daily brekkie, then I started getting the salami and mozzarella sandwich which is about R38 if I'm not mistaken. The farm style pie is also a great lunch item and pepper steak filling is great even though the bottom is a tad bit soggy. Although the Chai Tea was delicious the batista the could benefit from a lesson or two in customer service or just simply to not be rude. After ordering a Chai and Flat white, we realized that the flat white comes in a small. When asked if we could have it in large, the batista responded in rude and sarcastic manner suggesting that all people should know that flat whites are always served in a small.
