Monks Chinese — Restaurant in City Centre

We ordered from them early during the day. Delivery was arranged for 7pm and at 7pm no sign from them. They then called advising that they're running late. We waited and waited and waited and waited and then we decided to call them and they had not even started preparing our meal. Why take on orders if you can't meet the delivery times. Simply advise prior and avoid disappointment. This is pathetic service. I do understand that there's a demand but at the same time don't bite off more than you can chew and leave customers hungry and having to then find alternative options at ungodly hours. Ordered 2 sweet and sour both with egg fried rice via Uber eats. Order arrives with a sealed packed and when opened both egg fried rice were not packed.

When I called Monks CBD a lady answered. When I told here the issue the first thing she said to me was that it’s not there fault and that Uber eats drivers have been stealing there food.

I told her that in business the last thing you should do is throw the blame. It shows a huge weakness even as a take away shop. She then started to carry on as to how Uber eats is so dodgy. They offered to have the rice sent but that was not the point I was making.

Completely disappointed at Monks CBD as I waited well over the hour that was promised for my food to be delivered. What rubbed me the wrong way was that we ordered fortune cookies and upon delivery we did not receive them, mind you they were paid for. I spoke to a lady who was very eager to resolve the problem but realized that they were out of stock only after I called to inform her that we did not receive them. She mentioned that she would like to credit something off the menu/ offer a free item off our next purchase but failed to provide us with her details as reference as she was too eager to end the call.
