My husband's birthday dinner, with the entertainer... was told food will be ready in 20 min, then food came out with all the incorrect sides. Loadshedding was blamed.
Manager on duty said he'll see what can be done about the inconvenience because he's not the 1 who has the last say - saw him for the rest of the evening but his words meant nothing since he never approached our table after that.
Eventually after waiting a super long time, the food comes out but my mom is still waiting on hers, to which we had to walk to the kitchen to ask what's happening with her dish.
Not sure if using the entertainer means you automatically get substandard service, compared to the last time we frequented the restaurant, the service has become horrible.
There was a table of 8, foreigner group, whilst every staff member working that night tended to this table's needs, regretfully it was at the expense of the other tables. We had to ask our waiter for drinks the 2nd time around, cos he also kept disappearing for a while.
Skill your staff in being customer cetric, regardless of using the entertainer, know we still spend money, the same like everyone else and treat your customers as if they matter. With Mr delivery, uber eats and bolt foods, put 1 person in charge to manage the orders instead of again having everyone do the same thing like headless chickens and lastly, communicate with each other... if Loadshedding's been around for a while and they system has glitches, put a back up in place to avoid customers having to bear the brunt of it...
I won't be coming there anytime soon, and definitely won't recommend anyone to go there for any type of celebration. Like I said, it was my husband's birthday dinner, and it seems everything that could be done was done in order ruin...

Worst experience ever......
I decided to take my wife out to dinner for valentine's day to the famous Butchers Grill in Cape Town.
We arrived after making a booking for 8pm only to wait for 30min as no table was booked. We were fine with this as we do understand valentine's day can be a difficult one for restaurants. We were seated by the manager at an table that wasn't cleared off properly we understood this as well. We waited for 40min with no waitress/waitress introducing them to us. Still no drink order taken. At this point my wife and my patients started wearing thin. We asked the manager to call our waitress as we have no idea who to ask for drinks. The waitress took or order and 10min later brought our drinks. I ordered a norther drink from the waitress before my wife and myself went for a smoke outside. When we came back about 8min later still no drink. 10min went bye still no drink at this point my wife's drink has been done as well. Again putting my hand up like a school child to try and get anyone's attention. About 5min later we told the manager that the service is really really bad and we rather going to take the bill and leave. At this point he apologized and told us unfortunately she's not one of his strong staff and that 2 strong waiters didn't pitch for work. He took our food order along with our drinks order. The food took long but wasn't bad at all. I can't tell whether the table salad is good or not as we never received it. I asked for ground pepper I'm still waiting. I'm at home already still waiting on our table.
I would have gotten better service...
Read moreAfter regularly ordering and enjoying their ribs on Uber Eats, my husband and I were really looking forward to date night here.
We had a rocky start when the wine we ordered was off and completely sour. The manager didn't know anything about wine and told us he had "just smelled it and changed it on the system". The waitress didn't know the portion size of their "signature dish" Fillet With A Song and said it was 15 grams, until I asked her to please check. To add insult to injury, my R350 rare fillet arrived cold. It was rushed back to the kitchen and promptly brought back, still steaming from the microwave and now almost well done, by the manager. It was smothered in even more pepper sauce than before and while he said he had "fixed it", I ended up eating a very expensive pepper steak pie, without pastry. At this point we gave up because no amount of rational discussion was going to improve the food or service and left after less than an hour, without asking for or being offered a dessert order.
Based on previous reviews, this place seems to have given up on retaining customers and relies on foot traffic from the hotel. I am disappointed to say that you probably shouldn't waste your time or money if you are looking for proper fine dining or a...
