Bootlegger Frater Square — Restaurant in Drakenstein Local Municipality

Will never visit this establishment again. We visited the establishment on a Saturday afternoon and we were the only table in the restaurant. Yet what we experienced was appalling. Terrible service and zero understanding of what customer service means for a business. We waited 45 minutes for our food order, which ended up arriving cold and soggy. The waiter was unhelpful and did not know the menu at all with constant excuses and mistakes. When raising these concerns of the long waiting time and poor service the rude and incompetent manageress simply made more excuses and justified why our complaints were invalid. She did not even apologise once for the inconvenience. Shocking experience, will never visit any bootleggers establishment again as this was the last straw. Never again. Thank you for hosting the kitchen tea for our daughter Kay.Your lovely ambiance made our guests feel welcome and at home. Food was delicious from the breakfasts to the sweet delights. Your coffees are always excellent which everyone could enjoy not to mention the lovely Mimosas you prepared making each lady feel like a Princess. For me the idea of Bootlegger has always been a coffee company which ofcourse sells great coffee and well that’s pretty much it. To my surprise however, having attended the opening of their Paarl restaurant this past Friday the what I thought “just a coffee company” gave me so much more than I could’ve ever anticipated. A great selection of not only breakfast, but lunch and well sized portioned food which could easily fill one up for supper added by live music playing in the background made for the perfect evening out for both myself and mates.
