Yours Truly — Restaurant in Gardens

Had an extremely unpleasant experience with one of the waiters/hosts. I was sitting alone at a table because some of my friends had gone to the bar to order drinks. The staff member came up to me and asked how many we are, I explained some of my friends where at the bar and that more of our friends where on the way. He wanted me to give up my table for other guests he was with despite the fact that there were several other tables that were free. He began arguing with me for a while and was becoming quite hostile. I could not understand why we would need to give up our table when there are plenty of us and the table behind us was also a full table of our friends. Eventually I asked him what his name was, and he started becoming a bit aggressive and firstly refused to tell me his name, kept asking me why I want to know his name and then started telling me that there is nothing I can do with his name so I mustn't even try it? This is not how staff at any establishment should behave towards customers and the guy was quite erratic and aggresive. I wanted his name to speak to a manager about the behaviour being shown towards me as anyone would in this situation. I enventually dropped the issue because my friends felt it might become a safety concern or the guy could become more aggresive and escalate the situation if I had tried to complain in person. I came across this restaurant some time back and it looked amazing on pictures. Today , my partner and I finally decided to give it a try,arriving at apx. 16:30pm on a Sunday afternoon.As we arrived, no welcoming, waiters all preoccupied,when it wasn't busy, we were handed a menu from the guy stationed at the counter,found us a table and got seated.In the mood for something warm, we opted for chai latte's,the triple fried fries and two plain croissants. We waited, nobody came to take our order, I then went to the counter and asked if I can give my order now. The cashier (bartender) said yes... But only after he finished making drinks for the ladies seated at the bar. I waited patiently. Eventually he finished up, gave my order only to find out there's no chai nor croissants ,that I should try at the guy who was serving at another counter on the same venue.(Confusing). Nothing could surprise me more...out of stock too. No hope,my partner and I left. One of the worst service levels I have experienced,If I could rate 0 stars ,I would. The only positive must be the atmosphere of the lovely green plants ,...

Was once one of the best spots in CPT. Now I'd say it's probably best if they call it quits. They underpay their staff and treat them terribly... but that's a conversation for another day. If your'e looking for a safe spot with good management.... then this is definitely NOT the place for you. I was in the police station in town today trying to sort out a case due to my phone being pickpocketed in Yours Truly and as I was sitting down - awaiting my turn to be helped by an officer - I heard not one, but TWO other cases with similar stories from this place on the SAME NIGHT...? Only to find out from police that this establishment in particular is known for pickpocketing. It's also a great spot to be gaslit when asking about their "non working" security cameras. When we spoke to the manager, he said "sorry we have no cameras"... so my friend pointed directly at one near the bar, only for the manager to say "sorry they aren't working". The manager was quick to say "this doesn't happen often"... and as the manager walks away the bouncer walks up to us and says "this happens all the time". Time...
