Colony Arms — Restaurant in Gauteng

The service was terrible. We arrived and were shown to our table, and we were left no waiter, nothing. Eventually someone came to ask us if we were helped, where we then ordered out drinks and asked for a menu. Drinks arrived but no menu. I had to ask for a menu three different times. It took forever for us to get a waiter to take our order and after he took it I waited over an hour for my food and I only got my food because I went to look for someone who could help me. I found someone standing casually chatting by the bar. One of the waiters was sitting on his phone, that I had to knock on the window to get his attention to get some service. The only time they were actually speedy about something was when we asked for the bill. I am not impressed by the service. Considering they host these events every week, I would expect the level of service to be a bit better than the pretty much non-existent...

When ordering food they bring the order totally wrong, being over spiced, strong and burning when asked to be barbecue, with manager, waiter and so called chef totally pathetic in their attitude response and custmer relations, where the client/customer should not be going into a quarrel to have his order carried out roperly and correctly without the staff having to look for poor, pathetic and unjustified excuses why they were at default from the start and should have just rectified the order when brought under staff's attention, for them just rinsing the meat under the tap and heat it up and bring back to the table totally sick, unhygienic and poor operations in the restaurant industry. We were forced to cancel the order and leave the so-called restaurant, leaving a bad taste and experience with the entity and won't reconmended people to visit the entity due...

I love coming to Colony Arms for a drink with friends or for quiz night. But the service when seated at a table has become appalling.

We waited over 1 hour and 25mins for our food which only arrived when one of our friends started complaining.

The chilli poppers that they say come filled with cream cheese were filled with some sort of thick flour-like paste. The spinach cannelloni was literally inedible. The loaded fries were so smothered in cheese that had already gone hard by the time it got to the table that you couldn’t pull the fries apart. The only saving grace was the delicious side salads that accompanied everything and the fish and chips were fantastic.

Very disappointed to say the least considering how much money was spent here by our group of 6. Pop in for a drink or quiz any time as it is a vibe, but stay away...
