Hi,
I just thought I should inform you about my experience last night.
I am 34weeks pregnant and was accompanying my two friends that had been been drinking. I arrived at your restaurant with two of my friends at around 9/10pm after leaving from work in Sandton city (we all three work for a cosmetics brand). When we arrived, we were met by two of your bouncers. They argued that we were not allowed into your establishment with "sandals and slippers". My friend was wearing sandals with gold plates on them and I wore ones with feathers, which I have worn before to this specific café, by the way. A few minutes later, a group of women walked up to the entrance and were allowed in. I looked at all their shoes and one was wearing slip on sandals, like mine, except hers had pearls on. I asked your bouncers why they were allowed in and we weren't? They choked on their own hypocrisy and then said we could go in but insisted that my friend remove his cap. My friend got very offended at how he was treated especially when these bouncers started ridiculing him as he is a feminine gay man. My argument then was that should I also remove my wig then? I was also taken aback that just last week Thursday, the 20th, I was there at the same place with a female friend of mine and she was wearing a cap as well. They showed no courtesy or understanding or helpfulness. I obviously requested to see a manager of the place but they wouldn't let me see anyone. This bouncer told me he's the manager of security and that he's the only person I could speak to. He's a tall dark man wearing a red tie. When we turned around to leave, they started laughing and ridiculing us.
Yes, my friends were quick to anger and also started hurling insults at the guards as they were swearing at them as well but my question is is that they way you treat customers? Is that how your establishment treats homosexuals?
I'm asking for a response because I'm thoroughly shocked and disgusted at the treatment that we got and I will not stop publicising this until I receive an answer for this...
Read moreInterior deco is well organized and not overcrowded. The service was mmmm…okay but I felt they were a bit under-stuffed on this occasion as our we would wait for quite some time for our waiter to pop up, you could tell the guy was overwhelmed. We have experienced those dreadful restrooms during our night outing but they surprisingly kept them pristine.
Having tried the food in a number of bars and pubs, I must say that the food here was spectacular. We ordered a platter that was a jumble of beef ribs, pork ribs, chicken wings and lamb chops complimented by 3 savory sauces, and mind you, we almost ordered another platter but remembered we were there for drinks not stuff ourselves with their extravagant gourmet. Menu prices were a bit high but I'm sure they have specials every now and again.
My only squirm was the "one charcoal" shisha, once it dries up, you basically have to buy a new shisha, no reloads here. That being said, the good music and great dj, makes this a great place to enjoy with a bunch of friends. I highly recommend. Will be heading back soon on a non-alcoholic excursion, need to enjoy that...
Read moreThe Cubana Club is in Fourways area close to the recently revamped Fourways Mall. The club ambience is great offering a nice setting to relax with friends in likable company. Over and above drinks, you can order food as well as hot drinks. The cappuccino for example is quiet good. There is a resident DJ in the club. Music is okay though would require a little bit of variety. The choice is predominantly South African music which gets monotonous. The down side, DJ was requested three times to play something different but either he did not KNOW what or how, or HE was enjoying himself so much that he just did not want to change. How else do you explain playing music for more than five hours (17h00 - past 22h00 - 05.03.20) without anyone going to the dance floor😂😂.... And there is no non-smoking areas 😫😫 Cigarette and shisha smokers all over. The club would greatly help if they provide a...
