Saigon Suzy Cedar Square — Restaurant in Gauteng

This review is long time coming. After 5 visits to Saigon Suzy (a combination of large and small groups), I can safely attest that they are consistent with food and service of the highest quality. You can feel the vibe as soon as you enter and that vibe continues throughout your visit. The staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs and are adept at making you feel really comfortable. The karaoke booths are well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Whilst you are in the booth, the staff check in on you to make sure you have drinks or are having any issues or need anything. There is a variety of Asian dishes to try and there has not been single one that has disappointed the palate. The establishment is NOT halaal, but if you do intend to have company functions, do liaise with the management as they did allow us to bring halaal food from outside. They even went the extra mile of providing us with crockery and cutlery. This Saigon Suzy really goes above and beyond when it comes to customer satisfaction. Keep up the excellent work.

Edited with new visit on 29 March 2025 for my birthday. DID NOT FAIL MY EXPECTATIONS AT ALL!!!! Everything from the food to the drinks to the vibe were absolutely amazing. The impeccable service provided by Charity was appreciated by all as well as her attentiveness to our needs. I will advise that if you do want to do Karaoke that you book in advance as it is quite popular and can get booked up from quickly. We did not book in advance but the management did make a plan for us to get our sing on between some bookings. Much to our delight there was a DJ that arrived and that allowed the patrons, my friends and I to get our dance on as well. Saigon suzy in cedar square is really disappointing. You need to consider hiring new staff. The first time i visited cedar square branch it was not full but the service was slow, you dont know who your waiter is coz different ones serve because your original waiter is no where to be found, the food and drinks come out very late and they brought the wrong order.

Last night i went again hoping that things would be different but i was dissapointed once again. I reached at 6:30pm and one of your waiters told me that they were about to close, I asked him what he meant because its dinner time. He told me that its Sunday so they close early, when I asked what time they close he said 8pm. So i told him that I still have plenty of time to order and eat, then he told me that it depends because the person i was meeting hadnt arrived yet. This was very off putting because it sounded like he wanted me to leave.

After that I waited 15 minutes then had to flag a waitress to order a drink. All this while a new group of 3 people ordered and had received their drinks and i was still waiting as all the waiters were prioritising what i think was the karaoke booths. After another 15 minutes my drink still hadnt arrived and no waiters were in sight, so I got up and left. On my way out the original waiter asked me if i was coming back and I said no, because the service is so bad, he was very happy laughed waved and wished me farewell.

This attitude of your staff is so unprofessional I dont think there was much thought involved in the hiring process. The fact that iv been there twice and service was still so bad goes to show complaints are not addressed and no training or management oversee what is going on in the restaurant. I started with a Cherry Blossom virgin slush - it was really delicious and the drink was super pretty.

Next I shared the pork belly Pho noodles with my sister - it was good, it just needed a little bit of a kick to the flavour of the soup.The pork itself was delicious and the texture of the noodles was perfect. The bowl is definitely good to share.

Then I tried the KFC Korean fried chicken bao buns - my favourite dish of the night! It was so good, I know the menu says its a small plate but I wish there was a bigger version of it!

I also had a taste of the pork and kimchi dumplings , they looked awesome and tasted great too.

I loved the atmosphere of the place - the decor is beautiful and I unashamedly spent a long time taking photos of everything from my food to my cocktail to the lanterns and cherry blossom trees.

We were helped by the lovely Memory, who was very attentive, friendly and delivered quick service.
