Last time I went to Fego Caffe was pre covid. I think it was the one in Woodmead. Something that day turned me off, that's why I was skeptical this morning when my wife asked me to stop at Fego on the way to Sandton. I figured different location, many years later how bad can it be. It's located in the medical center at 200 Rivonia. We were immediately greeted by a very nice and helpful waiter, named Mdue. Soon after the manager on duty, Chrissa joined in. She was very nice, very knowledgeable of the menu, and helped us decide on our meal. I had the sausage, ham and cheese omelette which was very tasty and filling. I had to rip it open just to show you all how packed with meat it was. My wife had the tramezzini, with avo, feta, tomatoes and mushrooms. With a side of sweet potato. She was very pleased with her selection as well. We were happy to know that place serves breakfast all day. We will definitely be back again to try other meals from this menu. I was happy that we gave Fego another chance. Manager said he will call me back when the waiter returns this was on the 30th October at 9am. i received no call back. i phoned back at 2pm, he said he is coming to me, not sure for what. he did not pitch or call. i called again on the 31st at 12:30 to ask for his name, he just laughed and said i am coming now. i asked his name again then he laughed and said i am coming. he still has not said why he is coming to the office. i asked him if he does not want to tell he his name and finally he said lucky. 40 min later, still no luck. so they pitched up with another medio breakfast for lunch. wrong bread, well done eggs and no chips. if you were going to replace the order rather phone and confirm what the client wants or give them a voucher...
Read morePoor service - I recently went into the Fego Caffè whilst waiting for my wife to finish with her doctors appointment and ordered a pasta and a cappuccino. The restaurant was not busy, yet my coffee arrived in 15 minutes and my meal took around 70 minutes to finish. I struggled to find my waiter and when I did, no explanation as to the delay with the food was provided and the manager was not present. I ended up taking a take-away as we had to leave after my wife's hour long appointment. To make matters worse, my food felt like it was slapped together last minute and tasted pretty much the same.
