We were given rotten food an a nonchalant apology I am still in disbelief. We req for the food to be changed after I got sick to my stomach and threw up bad over steaks that smelled like rotten food. I came back from the horrifying bathroom visit my partner easeith the manager who declined the offer to taste the steaks, the food was replaced my partner had small cuts to taste and confirm if the replacements were good, she confirmed that they were fine and requested we get takeaway because we had lost our appetites. Let me tell you when we got home opened the packaging we received 1 person's order that was totally incorrect. The first sign was the meat it was well done and the bite my partner took earlier on was not there, the calamari rings my partner ordered and asked for the order to be separated cause I am allergic to seafood 🙌 the food was not there at all. The shop gave us a nonchalant apology, I live in Randburg, and I had to drive down to the shop to drop the wrong order. Later on the day when I called back to check on my reservation time as discussed with the manager, I spoke to someone who claimed the manager is not in and they were fully booked, also they were told that 1 of us finished their food at the restaurant, the shock I got. 😲😲😲😂 I asked that person to view footage because now I am being made out to seem like I'm crazy to top it off I was given a refund no explanation no compensation for my time or petrol nothing, just here's your money “bye” type of attitude this is the next day morning time when I took back the wrong food. Hussar Grill is my go-to restaurant I've been to 3 of them it was my first time at Morning side, I am still in disbelief the attitude of the guy I spoke to over the phone 🙌 it was as if the were doing me a favour I have photos and videos of what I ordered vs what I received...

Party of 6 midweek should have been a breeze but we left somewhat disappointed. Oxtail was very much tasty and chicken breasts meal shut it down ( hands down the best I have had, so divine I unfortunately had to shared it with the other 3 who ordered beef and did not enjoy their meals). The rib eye, fillet and Chateaubriand were the worst I have tasted with the last one being well done instead of rare. Cocktails, just train the waitresses to call the barman or manager to the table if you are serving customers who definitely know how their cocktails should taste like. My sister didn't want syrup in hers, 2 rejected cocktails that tasted like water and the manager came with attitude, young lady who lacked any managerial qualities and charm to try and help. She was of zero help. Ended up ordering wat our waitress recommended, the watermelon wat wat which we enjoyed. So overally the waitress who took our main orders was Pleasent and lovely, we loved her to bits. The one who took our orders for drinks needs to brush up on her drinks /alcohol knowledge or quickly ask for intervention if she isn't sure, humble personality though I ended up feeling bad for her as she kept on messing up. The manager well...either she was having a bad day or she shouldn't be a manager! I'll be back for the chicken breast meal again n will review again.
Now I l know were to go again if I want the biggest racks of ribs! Sweet, tender succulent. Lamb shank...couldn't eat a third of it...their portions are worth every cent, very generous. Enjoyed every bit of our meal! Wish they had a slightly bigger space...my uncle wasn't too thrilled about us sitting right by the door. Beautiful...
Read moreNot sure how this place got it's rating but is one of those spots that you read about travel miles to go to and then it's all a bit underwhelming. On approach if you come off the parking area there is no real welcome. Even with a reservation once you are deep into the restaurant it's hard to find someone to seat you. My server was trying hard but too distracted. I twice had to ask the person bussing for service. I went for the Tomahawk but they were sold out. The starter was such a non event I honestly cant remember it and this was two days ago. I ordered the bone marrow rib eye which seemed to be the next best thing. There is an art to the ribeye that this restaurant like many others does not understand. It requires a hot sear to melt the fat. Success with the cut is only realized if its quality beef of a decent thickness. In South Africa a beef country it suprises me that restaurants like this just don't access thick cut grass fed beef. This spot certainly doesn't. Despite the theatrics of melting the 'bone marrow butter' with a blow torch. The steak was simply a disappointment. I am sorry I also made a big effort...
