I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at the McDonald's location in Ghandi Square on January 10, 2025. As a lifelong customer and fan of the establishment, I was surprised by the unsatisfactory experience.

I purchased a muffin from LA Ridge and a caffe latte from McDonald's, but received a chai latte instead. After taking a few sips, I decided to return to the restaurant after work to politely inform them of the mistake.

Unfortunately, my encounter with Mr. Sphiwe Dlhamini, a representative of McDonald's, was unhelpful. Despite my calm demeanor and understanding that mistakes can happen, Mr. Dlhamini insisted that I had ordered the incorrect item. When I explained that I did not have the receipt, as I had never needed to keep one in the past, he informed me that he could not assist me further.

What struck me as particularly concerning was the feeling that, as a black customer, I was not being taken seriously or treated with the same level of respect that a white customer might receive. This perception was disappointing and unsettling.

I hope that this incident can be used as an opportunity for McDonald's to reflect on their customer service practices and ensure that all patrons, regardless of their background, receive fair and...

So I am a huuuge fan of McDonald's for its quality at an affordable price, quick service and cleansiness, the new self service tills have been my favourite coz I dislike lines, but this McDonald's at Ghandi finished all the love for me, we used self service and was instructed to then sit down as our order was being prepared, 10-15 minutes later we see our order number on the monitor shown as "being prepared" but a mere 2 minutes later it had vanished. We sat down for another 30-35 minutes waiting and you should know my friend had to go fetch her baby at school, she had to make calls to organise that her mother picks up the child while we waiting for this order, at exactly 40 minutes later she got up to go an enquire, only for one of the staff members to tell her to ask nicely, to our surprise the order has not been prepared and she took the orders from the ones being prepared for other people on the line which then creates the ripple effect coz more people will now stand long for their order, when she finally served us as we were sitting in, there was no serviette and tray. The food remains true McDonald's food but the service here, I'd advise anyone to stay away on...

The worst service ever they basically wanted me to beg them, so I ordered a grand-chicken spicy, the chicken on the burger was over cooked, so I couldn't bite it because I have braces, so I require a fork and knife, so I ask kindly to the person handing out orders if she could please give plastic cutlery 🍴 which they had and she told me no I can't give you because cutlery it's only for breakfast go ask the manager, so I tell the manager I can't bite their burger can I have cutlery and she says we don't give cutlery and I told her I won't be able to eat without it and she is like I'm going to give you but don't ever do it again, at that point I'm confused whether I'm being asked to remove my braces so I can bite through their hard over cooked chicken patty or I should never come again? I have went to so many fast food restaurant and when I ask for cutlery they give me without even asking me questions, but at this McDonald's I literally had to beg for a plastic cutlery, disappointing service and poor management and yes I won't do it again I'm never going back to...

It's a warm environment to be in There us enough staff working so the service flows... I had an encounter with the marketing manager, I didn't get her name but she was a joy. Very warm, very friendly I use to go here when I was in high school, most high school students go to this McDonald's because of the buses. It is more than just a restaurant for food, it is also a permanent token for many memories
