Bad experience. The lady at the cashier plays with clients money. When I entered the place I asked one of the waiter if they selling the baos 2 by 2 (like everywhere else in the world) and he said yes. First I wanted the food as a take away so I grabbed one menu red it and was ready to order. To make sure everything was I was about to be normal I asked the lady who was working behind the cashier (the lady that get the orders ready for the uber eats not the manager) if the bao are sold 2 by 2… big surprise she said “no it’s 1 by 1”. So to make my experience the best experience I obviously ordered 2 bao of 1 flavor / 2 bao of another flavor / and 1 bao of another flavor. If it sold 1 by 1 it means I was buying 5 right?! Anyway I changed my mind I decided to stay and eat there… I ask the same lady (2min after ordering) can I seat? I want the food as a take away… the lady looked at me and so confused eventually I had to tell her “are you gonna say no??” She looked at me kept on being confused and eventually told me that I can seat. Anyway my order arrive; now I see the problem of why she didn’t want me to seat because she made me buy more then I wanted to to.. she lied to me about the numbers of baos… so I eventually I tell her about her “mistake” as she leaves the take away pack on the table (when I told her that I’m actually eating here) but she didn’t know what to do or what to say… I told her that she makes me look ridiculous because I have now 10 baos to eat in the take away bag in front of other clients… she still didn’t know what to say. So I ended up talking to the honest waiter who told that bao or sell 2 by 2… he understood the problem, called the manager; the manager understood the problem and wanted me to seat still and eat… but eventually after being in the restaurant for more then the time I wanted to and didn’t get the right order, I ended up not wanting to eat anymore; I even told the manager that she can give my food to the girl who made the mistake and that she just ruined my experience here…end of the story; the manager told me come on Monday to get a redoing because they don’t have cash. Here is the picture of my receipt. So you can understand what she tried to do when I was being honest and just wanted 5 baos since she sold them...

Food is amazing as always. But the service was horrible My waitress seemed like she was lost in translation We didn't receive any of the complimentary starter. My partner walked out to do something and I waited nearly 15 minutes to order . When I finally asked for the waitress she came and said that she thought I was waiting for my partner which I can understand, but to not even come and check up on me . This was when the restaurant was quite empty I ordered the food and she did not ask what I wanted as a beverage ( I did not bring my own alcohol) I know waitresses aren't supposed to smell what we want but courtesy is important. When we were done we had to flag our waitress... It was clear as day that we were finish and she never once came to check up on us. When we were done we asked for our food to be packaged and asked for the bill . She came with the box for the food and cleared the table and we waited nearly 10 mins My partner went to look for her but couldn't find her and when she finally came, she asked what else we'd like and she ended up forgetting our bill . The sheer incompetence was highly unappreciated I've made the decision to never return to any Momo again because this ISN'T the first time I've received horrible service even at other branches Once I tried to make a booking at this very branch and the staff was so absolutely rude over the phone that we did not end up going Please see to educate your staff about customer etiquette It total... The food is good but the staff...

We hadn't been here for about 12 months. We had really enjoyed it then, and we were looking forward to our return. We ordered tapas for the variety and because we enjoyed them so much, previously. 1.Crispy fried calamari - tastless, chewy, crunchy, over cooked 2.Chicken wings - dry, tasteless, over cooked Spicy kalbi beef - so over cooked that they were tasteless, crispy and brittle, reminded me of biltong crisps 4.Twice Cooked Beef ribs - tender, no seasoning though and wasn't cooked a second time. Just heated and served with a few dollops of the sauce added 5.Fiery green beans - the garlic, chillies, soy was at the bottom, with the green beans just plonked on top with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. It was only afterwards that we discovered the ingredients underneath. No corriander, though. Prawn spring rolls - no prawn meat discerned Stir fried greens spring rolls - under seasoned 2 bao buns - these were lovely, but the most of the tapas were so dry that they weren't...

This used to be one of my favourite places but what an utter disappointment our lunch was today. Firstly we were told that there were many items not available and yet we were the first customers there. They are clearly trying to cut corners. I ordered the salmon ceviche tacos, and the salmon was completely inedible, very poor cuts. The portion of edamame beans was less than half of what it used to be, as was the portion of Hey Wok Beef noodles which was also very oily and not up to the standard it was before. We were told that they now WEIGH the portions on instruction from the owners but yet these smaller portions remain the same prices. Very unlikely that I will continue to support this store. Clearly no regard for their clients and seem to have become sloppy and greedy.

While the food at Momo Baohaus is undeniably delicious and keeps us coming back, the experience consistently falls short due to one major issue: portion sizes when ordering via Uber Eats. Time and again, we’ve spent close to R1000 for a family of five, only to find ourselves still hungry and needing to order more food elsewhere. It feels like daylight robbery. Beyond the small portions, the inconsistency in menu offerings and product availability is incredibly frustrating. You never quite know what you’ll get, and it’s disappointing, especially given how good the food actually is. Momo Baohaus, you’ve nailed the flavour, but it’s time to fix the basics. Your loyal customers deserve better value and consistency.
