Finally halaal one now. Only open 2 week now I think. I go Wimpy there 3 times now time. First time takeout food only chicken sandwich and blue drink very nice, and other two time I sit. Everytime new going getting better with food and serving. Very affordable, I try the only 99 rand burger with chips and drink good. Maybe just burger a bit too much cook. Workers very nice people, nice respect and patient because english not easy for me but explain nice and help. Make jokes and laugh too much and also give toys to my kids. Owner check my table two times, ask if I okay or needing something. Good guy like muslim must be. Definite bettering slowly. all on Allah's time. I work for resturant for many years and not easy job nd customer too much think they only best people and sometime rude but no good for muslim to be like this. Before make it halaal Wimpy I go with work friend for coffee, very quiet. Now halaal, too much busy so I know must be more patient. I go wit 5 friend, worker take order in 10 minute when ready to make order, then bring food in 25 minute. Crisp burger too much nice. But for all like everything, getting better, nice worker night time, food more good each time going. Like say too much busy because new halaal and car wash also free when put gas. Owner also talking nice and I talk about Palestine with worker, and he patient and also understand and too much clever. I think owner come also and sure everything good for me and family also. also say building namaaz room. Got playground for kid. Inshallah getting better. I go again to try and worker by gas also too much respect smile and asking oil and air and cleaning window. Thank you Wimpy. One suggest, Pls make nikab section for wife and sister. Read moreWe were very excited to hear that a new Halaal Wimpy opened at the BP garage so close to home, and after a long day of shopping we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience.
When we arrived, we waited about 5 minutes to be seated — not because the restaurant was busy, as it was fairly empty, but simply because we were ignored. What appeared to be the owner and another staff member glanced at us and carried on, until my husband had to approach them to request a table (while I was holding our sleeping toddler). I also have to say the floors and windows of the resturant were extremely dirty which is surprising given this is a new restaurant one would think they would strive for perfection when it comes to cleanliness.
It then took another 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order. During this time, the owners seemed more focused on arguing with staff than attending to the few customers present.
We do understand that the restaurant is newly opened, but service and attentiveness should always be a priority — especially in the first few weeks when you’re trying to build customer loyalty. Sadly, this was not the case.
Perhaps the new owners could learn a thing or two about valuing customers and creating a welcoming dining experience from the wimpy...
Read moreWe had Wimpy this past weekend and it turned out to be such a lovely sit down experience. The evening weather was perfect too, the food arrived quickly, and everything tasted great.
Theres a fun jungle gym outside for the kids and they loved it! I just wish the play area felt a bit more secure since it leads out toward the carwash side, but thats a minor detail compared to how much we enjoyed ourselves.
The atmosphere was cheerful. The manager came by to check on us (always a nice touch), and Bongi was super friendly. She genuinely made us smile. The kids were happily colouring. And Just looking around, it seemed like everyone else was having just as much of a good time.
