Nice food but the portions are so big you’re almost full after the appetizer. Especially the cheese soufflé could be smaller as it is quite rich and the bouillabaisse too was rich and salty. There is no way you are able to have a dessert with portions like these.

We did corkage which was 115 R and were able to bring a nice bottle of bubbles we bought from a small producer.

I had the tuna and it was good. Slightly not seared enough, there edge were cooked but not browned. We asked the waitress for recommendations and she wasn’t recommending the tuna but we know culturally they often do not recommend tartare, tataki, uncooked stuff in general. In the end it was a nice choice for me, a good quality of bluefin tuna. My partner had the seafood platter, it was good but huge. The fish was a bit overcooked.

The view is beautiful, bring a jacket if you want to eat outside in November as the temperature drops a lot...

A lovely evening meal at Amelia’s.

The hotel is gorgeously decorated and the bar looked lovely too. The staff were all smiley and chatty, and it was nice to see a restaurant busy and lots of people enjoying themselves.

Really tasty and well presented meals. A lovely salad and poke to start, and great tuna for me and veg curry for hubbie as a main. And a full vegan menu if needed.

Two very minor let downs only. The poppadum served with the curry was not crispy, and the sorbets we had after were a bit watery. But very minor comments on what was an excellent meal.

We haven’t been drinking and so took a bottle of non alcoholic wine with us and paid corkage of R95 which was a bargain.

Super service...

What an amazing dining experience. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main street during the busy holiday season this restaurant has stylish decor and provides a tranquil setting overlooking the ocean. The staff are very professional, friendly and accommodating to find options to suit your dietary requirements. The portion sizes are more than enough and tasty. Enjoy a cocktail to cool down in the summer heat and come and relax at Amelia's. Be sure to make a booking well in advance over the holiday season and give them a call to see if there is a gap even if the online booking...
