The most incompetent team at any of the McDonald's that I've been to. The store is very busy, with the queue of cars backed up into the road. I order happy meals for the kids, a chicken burger and a hot chocolate for me. The display at the order section doesn't work, so I cannot see if my order went through correctly. No receipt offered at the payment window. It takes a few mins to sort out the food at the final window, but it's been a long day, it's loadshedding, the kids are hungry, so I wait. As I drive away, I feel that my food packet feels odd for a burger. I check, and it's fries. My first thought is a mistake was made, so my son runs to the window to do a swop. Apparently no, they are adamant I ordered fries. They refuse to swop anything. I must leave my kids in the car, go into a packed store to go do another transaction for dinner for me. Apparently they cannot bring a cash point to the final window so I can pay in whatever the difference is between a chicken burger and fries. They now have the fries, which I didn't want, and I have no...
Read moreDon't visit this McDonald's at 2AM unless you're in the mood for a surprise party you're not invited to. So there I was, after a few glasses (fine, a bottle) of wine, craving a glorious Big Mac meal like a true gourmet. I pull up to the order window, radiating friendliness (thanks, wine!), only to be met by the world's grumpiest staff member. No problem, I thought I’m here to spread love and good vibes, not start a fast food feud.
But then... nothing moved. For ages. Curious (and still high on life and cabernet), I bravely decided to stroll to the front to investigate. And what do I find? A full blown party happening at the pickup window. Staff and customers laughing, chatting, living their best live! Meanwhile, the rest of us were just extras in their late night sitcom.
No apologies. No security. No burgers. I almost joined the party, but sadly, my Big Mac cravings were stronger than my FOMO. Will I be back? Sure. But maybe not at 2AM when McDonald's apparently turns into...
Read moreI visited McDonald's on a Saturday morning. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but there was a constant flow of people. I had to wait here for about 2 hours because my car was being serviced across the road.
I ordered a coffee and a meal. The coffee was great, a big improvement, but the meal was standard, as expected from McDonald's.
However, the restaurant wasn't very clean. While waiting for my coffee, I could see into the kitchen and noticed that the floors and surroundings weren't very clean.
Additionally, during my wait, several empty tables were left uncleared. Orders were brought up to the tables all the time but none of the front of house staff bothered to clear them.
I also tried to use the restroom, but it was too dirty to use. The overall atmosphere was wrong; none of the TV monitors were on, and there was no music playing.
This, combined with the noise from the kitchen, made for a very unpleasant environment. I would probably go...
