Very comfy, casual and welcoming place to chill, eat and/or drink, for (it seems) both families and teenagers wanting a bit of a vibe.
A really funky and fresh upstairs family restaurant with a more vibey bar downstairs. As a family of 4 with 2 kids 13 and under, we opted for upstairs.
Management, staff and service are super friendly and just super. Waiting time for drinks and food was very good and much better than normal for SA'n restaurants that generally make you wait forever on purpose so that you will order more drinks.
The pizza's are not spectacular but they are good and good enough to get us back a second time within our two week stay in Plett, although the overall vibe and ambience also played a hand in the family wanting to go again.
Same for the pasta's, however, we probably would not have these again - stick to the pizza's and the Aperol Spritz'.
There is even a dedicated area for kids to play and this was neat and clean where these are very often a messy, germ infested pits. Very kid friendly and welcoming and the first restaurant that makes excellent Mocktails and reasonable prices. We genuinely gave up on ordering R80 mocktails that are a glass full of ice with some fruit juice and syrup. These were about R40 and they were excellent with genuine "mixer" syrups and not overly filled with ice.
This is an interesting conceptual brand as they have sourced their own line of clothing, caps, beach towels, etc and after having a look, the stuff is really nice and not badly priced at all. The kids bought the SLOPS Caps and they love them - they didn't take them off the whole holiday.
The food is good enough, the service is excellent and the ambience is chilled, comfy, welcoming and spectacular. They are relatively new and I wish them the best of luck and prey that hey keep up the good work.
Don't miss out on this establishment if you are passing...
Read moreMe and the family went there on Saturday evening and thought it would be great as it's a new place. We got there and was very quiet. 3 tables upstairs, we sat down and waited a while for a waiter to arrive. When she arrived it was like why we there? There was a table across us that was dirty and the waiters were standing around on their phones. Took them 15 minutes to clean the table. That was only because there was a group of people that came in. Everytime we asked her something she would roll her eyes and mumble. We were thinking of going else where at that point but decided to stay as it was past 8. We had mains and when asked for 2 bottles of water it was another mumble and roll of eyes to get it. After mains we thought we would try the dessert. Unfortunately that never happened as we asked for take away boxes for the mains and the menu for desserts, she brought the boxes and then the menu, could've brought both at the same time. After we got the menus we had looked and waited for her to come take the order. She never came and took our order. Waiters standing around and we just got up and wanted to pay as the service was really terrible. As we asked to pay the bill they couldn't find her. When paying the bill she still had the cheek to ask how much her tip will be. A waiter never asks that. I work in the hospitality industry and this service was really poor. Such a lovely place with so much potential and great food just the service is really bad...
Read moreCame here after SIL recommended it to us saying you guys got the best burgers in Plett. She was right. I am pretty picky when it comes to burgers- or food and drinks in general but I am amazed by the quality of food and the drink I had (will def have to try to recreate the beverages👀).
The staff couldn’t have been nicer. And I really appreciated them not being pushy (this is my recommendation for fellow autistic people and other neurodivergent folks here!).
I really fell in love with the maximalistic interior design- it stands out compared to the costal blue & white interiors and exteriors of other places here.
I only wish- and I will not remove 1 star for this at is it a common issue in hierarchical workspaces- that the manager(s) (which I’m assuming he is) would treat their staff with more respect. It’s not just about us as customers noticing these things but it’s the bare minimum you could do for your fellow human beings. I understand being stressed out but I do not believe your stress should affect your staff especially if it seems directed at specific employees.
So with the ups and downs listed! I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family in Germany once we return home (and to F&F...
