I would like everyone to know just how utterly disappointed I am at the bouncers and manager at Chicago's. Following a lady collapsing on the dance floor and the DJ requesting anyone with medical experience to help the lady, I immediately went to go help the lady as I am a medic. She had dislocated her knee. After stabilizing her and trying to calm her down, I was screamed at by 2 bouncers, who refused to listen. I was then pushed out and the lady was then dragged out by her limbs and placed on a bench. I was then told to "go home". The lady who I helped was very appreciative of the help I provided, she agreed how this behavior by Chicago's bouncers was extremely disappointing. I will say that the waiters at Chicago's are very friendly. This matter was between the bouncers and the on duty manager who sympathized with the bouncers.
RE the owners response: I am extremely disappointed with the owners response. I did not insult the bouncers or anyone from the Chicago's team, I specifically asked them to calm down (as they were shouting at me) and asked them to allow me to them explain what was happening to the lady.
The lady did manage to walk after "10 minutes" only because I assisted with relocating her patella (knee cap), if I didn't then she most likely wouldn't have been able to walk out. I saw the lady afterwards and she completely agreed with me on how wrong the bouncers behavior was and said she was going to complain to management the next morning.
If your team needs assistance with training on how to handle medical situations please let me know. As it is evident their training on how to handle a medical situation is sorely lacking. Manhandling medical personnel is not...
Read moreHad the absolute worst night out last night... my friends and I have been going to Chicago's for years, after last night, we will 100% not be going back.
Firstly, witnessing a young girl having a seizure, and the bouncer then carrying her downstairs and "plopping" her down on the neighboring business's TABLE of all places, to find out not one person on their staff is first aid trained or anything and left the patrons to deal with the situation was appalling and absolutely shocking.
It however did not end there, at the end of the evening, the bouncers assaulted my friend and my mother.... yes my friend shouted at the bouncers as he was escorted off the premises, but the extent the bouncers then took it to was shocking, my friend was grabbed by his shirt and punched in the face and head at least 3 times, only to then be let go of and fall straight to the ground, on the stairs, unconscious, as my mother and I (both of us stone cold sober, not having touched a drop of alcohol) then asked the bouncers very nicely (tryout to calm the situation)to please now leave him alone, we will take him to the car, the bouncer that delivered the punches then grabbed my mother's arm and started screaming at us something about being a pro boxer and whatever other rubbish and threats, he then continued to scream and shout at us as we were leaving.
Absolutely horrified at how unprofessional this establishment actually is. And how brutal and unnecessarily violent the bouncers, especially the smaller one with a "Mohawk"...
Read moreToday, the 26th of August, is my first wedding anniversary. Last night, we went to the Chicago’s piano bar, despite not being from the area. We had booked a hotel nearby.
We decided to order jalapeño poppers with cream cheese filling and chicken wings.
When my wife bit into the poppers, she immediately noticed a weird, fishy taste. Keep in mind, my wife has a severe allergy to shellfish and tree nuts. These are her only allergies.
Within 10 minutes of eating, she started experiencing a severe allergic reaction. It quickly escalated, and being unfamiliar with the area, I had to rush her to the hospital around 1 in the morning!!!
To make matters worse, my car broke down while I was trying to get her to the hospital. If it weren't for a very kind tow truck driver, my wife's throat would have completely closed, and this would have been involuntary manslaughter!!!!
Thankfully, the tow truck driver got us to the hospital just in time.
This is absolutely outrageous and unacceptable from the kitchen staff at the Chicago piano bar. I don't know if it was the oil they used or where the meal was prepared, but that doesn't excuse the fact that I almost lost my wife on our first wedding anniversary!!!!
I am utterly disgusted with this place, knowing that shellfish and nuts are common allergies.
I want the management and the owner to understand that this will...
