Brian's Pub — Restaurant in Sea Point

Very disappointed with this place, in this day and age, Rasicm really? I lived in the UAE 4 years and coming back to this was shocking! We were a group of 8 guys who felt like supporting this bar. We bought alcohol, bought food which was below standard, actually, the food is awful. We used the Juke box, and when using it, the music was put softer, which we understood, because the rugby was going to start soon. South Africa vs England. We felt a very bad vibe from the minute we stepped foot in the bar. We were given bad looks because we coloured gentleman, people started being hostile with us the people that was at the bar and the staff. After 2 hours spending time there we were told we cannot be served alcohol anymore and that we should leave. Not wanting to start trouble we rather left and went to go watch the rugby game at a much better friendlier and non racist place, Mojo Market. We met a white gentleman there with his coloured fiance and he came to us noticing us from Brian's Bar where he was too, he told me his from Johannesburg and that he was at Brian's Bar Friday eve 19th November and it was OK, there was a diverse crowd and everyone was OK but yesterday Saturday 20th November 2021 was a bad awkward experience for him and his fiance they got weird looks from the people and staff at the bar and also left to Mojo Market. We told the gentleman what had just happened to us and he was not surprised. He left Brian's Bar when he felt the tension from the staff and other guests that were there. Very bad place and the way the staff speak to paying customers, is totally disgusting....

I’ve just spent 10 days in Cape Town and LOVE this bar. As a solo visitor I came to the pub not knowing what to expect and the welcome from staff and customers was incredible. I’ve had such an amazing stay here in Cape Town and visiting this bar has been a huge part of it.
