A Flavourful Delight!
We had an amazing experience at Let's Frite in Franschhoek. The drinks were spot on: the glass of house Bordeaux blend was excellent, the Franschhoek Brewery Kölsch was refreshing, and the San Pellegrino grapefruit was a perfect non-alcoholic option.
The burgers were the stars of the show. The double beef and cheese burger was juicy and packed with flavor, while the fried chicken burger with the added cheese slice was a crispy, juicy masterpiece. Flavours we're next level, and the freshness unmistakable: you can tell when something had been frozen and the meats we're all spring chicken fresh.
We shared a full portion of the triple fried frites with the included sauce choice of parmesan truffle mayo sauce, and they were hands down the best chips we've ever had! Super crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned.
We also had coleslaw as a side snack and it pairs well with the chicken burger.
Brian, our waiter, provided excellent service, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The vibe is chilled, the prices are fantastic, and the food is simply amazing. We highly recommend Let's Frite for a delicious and satisfying meal in...
Read moreWe stopped by out of curiosity last night and discovered this absolute gem! From the warm atmosphere, the friendly staff and amazig (and affordable) food. We were blown away! These two delicious burgers are last night's dinner and we were gobsmacked at the simplicity and genious of this meal. What you see before you, is the vegan mushroom burger(with it's very own vegan cheese sauce) and the buttermilk battered fish burger, each with side of undeniably crunchy potato chips.
My favourite part was how when you walk inside, if feels like a fine dining experience but when you get your food you get a fun, relaxed meal plated in a cardboard box with the intent of making it simple and giving the food it's dues for it's taste, not how it's presented on your plate.
So if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy your fancy wine but still lick your fingers after dinner, and even comfortably share two burgers and an extra side of fries, I tell you this...
Read moreI've had some excellent burgers here before, albeit a while ago, but this one!?!? It just wasn't as good... Chips didn't taste fresh out of the fryer either. Anyway... The one big gripe I have is about your wine list. We have always brought our own in the past and next time we'll definitely do that again. If you're going to bother with a wine list, please put a few more options on it. The full range of Protea wines (all overpriced) and 3 other horribly expensive options does NOT make a wine list. With all this wine in the valley, you can certainly do better. We drank cider. Our waiter, the ever ditzy Thomas, we've known for years. He's a fabulous chap, but has never once.. Ever... got an order right. No big deal this time and we'll still support the guy wherever...but then he went home half way through our meal!!!?? I guess we'll be back again sometime on another visit to the Hoek, and will most certainly bring a decent...
