This was our second visit for 8 days. Thank you Annamaria, Millicent, Dianna and team for another fabulous stay. Having booked a little late this year, Annamaria did everything to ensure we could stay here again. We had the chance to sample 3 rooms, the Chanel Room being our favourite. This boutique guest house offers great value, wonderful sumptuous (big) breakfasts, and the most amazing afternoon cake and coffee. Situated in the heart of Franschoek you can be amongst all the buzz, with easy access to all the restaurants, yet still have a peaceful quiet night's sleep. The rooms are all different which is part of the charm and at a price point to suit all travellers depending on your needs, bigger bed, more space or access direct to pool (which is crystal clear and clean - albeit cool - but that proves perfect after a hot day of wine tasting - even I got into it .....) Linen is fresh and cool, towels big and fluffy, pillows comfy. Rooms are immaculately clean, with lovey touches of home made biscuits and welcome drinks. There's fridge, lots of fresh water, lovely bathroom products, air con quiet and very effective. Oh and the breakfasts, to die for! SO much choice you are absolutely spoilt. The french toast - yum yum. And my husband always managed to squeeze in the omelette with bacon and mushrooms after his fruit salad and fresh yoghart, as well as croissants and toasts (so make sure you have plenty of breakfast room). The team (and what a team they are) can even offer the weary traveller some laundry options, a bonus if you have packed light. We loved our time with the team and cannot wait to come back -...
Read moreELEGANT & PEACEFUL - Maison du Cap My hubby booked a weekend away for us at Maison Du Cap for my birthday… and what a treat is was! The place is absolutely beautiful, both the guest house and the surroundings.
The staff truly make the environment - they are quiet and gentle which really set a wonderful relaxing atmosphere! Everything is so elegant and absolutely spotless. There is an immaculate living area with the most amazing fire place (great for those cold winter days!) if you just want to chill and relax after a busy day. There is also an amazing pool and a gorgeous outside area available for guests. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, and so cozy - everything down to the fine details has been thought of. Our bedroom even came with a small private pool and outside patio area. The breakfast each day was tasty and there is so many options to choose from.
The guest house is located in the heart of Franschoek - the main road is about a minutes walk from the house and yet you cannot hear the hustle and bustle of the main street - it’s amazing!
But for me it was the small details that really left a lasting impact - from balloons and chocolates in our room, to the mobile massage which was arranged through the guest house - I felt so spoilt and pampered!
My hubby and I look forward to returning in summer!
I would highly recommend this...
Read moreThis is by far one of the most beautiful places in Franschhoek we have seen. A stunning boutique hotel right near all the happenings, this is an oasis of 5 individually decorated rooms. Room number 4 is the suite with the private pool separated from everything else, a spacious marble bathroom and a free mini bar. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a complimentary bottle of wine, freshly baked cookies and the mini bar is also complimentary. Coffee and cake are served every day at 4 pm and breakfast is delicious and extraordinary. This place is VERY clean and cozy, the main pool is large and you can swim labs, comfortable lounge chairs and sun beds invite you to relax in the sun. This is a rare find in Franschhoek where everything is usually cramped in. Staff is super helpful and friendly, yet very discreet. The outdoor area where breakfast is usually served is stunning as well. Good internet and free parking right in front...
