Terrible first experience at The Meeting Place thanks to John the doorman who acts more like a bouncer than a welcoming host.
Exploring dorp street for the first time thanks to the market, was looking for a place to stop for brunch & to use the restroom.
Before I was even offered a table or the menu I was turned away as my first enquiry was to use the restroom.
John the doorman (that's the name he gave me) was aggressive, unwelcoming and unfriendly assuming that I was only stopping by to use the rest room.
I didn't even get a chance to walk in to check out the atmosphere and decide whether or not we wanted to spend the afternoon there.
On one of the most ideal days for a market, not a breath of wind in the air, great vibes all round, all it takes is one grumpy doorman to spoil your afternoon & damage your brand identity.
Sadly, this is not "The Meeting Place" for us, we are very happy to spend our time elsewhere and probably won't be returning.

Read moreI've had the privilege of having breakfast at the Meeting Place a few times and it has always been lovely. We recently had our business launch event as a private function there for Campfire Coaching and it was an amazing experience.

Once the power came on, we were treated to the most amazing platters I've had in my life. First person feedback included: "If I had known the platters were going to be that good, I would have brought a lunch box"
Well priced, accommodating and willing to go the extra mile to have it exactly as you imagined. Thank you to the team at The Meeting Place, you'll definitely be...
Read moreA Fantastic Place…If You Are Caucasian.
I (being a person of colour) have had the displeasure of dining in this establishment and having to witness only the Caucasian patrons being catered to and waited on. Leaving me (the only POC in the establishment at the time) to fend for myself after having waited 25 MINUTES for someone to attend to me. A paying customer can only be ignored for so long, regardless of race.
The service was so bad that I could have walked straight out of the establishment without having paid for my meal and none of the staff would have been the wiser. Fortunately for them, I do not believe in reciprocating uncouth behaviour.
I implore management to handle this issue swiftly, as this micro-aggressive approach to business cannot be favourable.
The food was nothing to brag about neither. It is safe to say, I will not be a...
