This is a modern boutique restaurant located on ground floor of Shilla Stay. I was a tad skeptic about the good rating, being a lover of Japanese food.
It’s a rainy day and I was staying around the corner. No harm giving it a try. I love places that allow me to eat alone in peace. The Japanese are very good at that. You can log onto to wifi by scanning on their QR code.
The chefs speak excellent English and there’s an English menu. I did not go for the best ie. Giyohang Don. As a fan of uni, I went for the uni-Don.
As I sat down, I was served with a welcoming warm tea as though I was being welcomed into a home. Then came the appetiser, followed by the main meal. I am intrigued to be asked to stir my wasabi into the soy sauce, meant to be drizzled into my uni-don: fresh uni sitting on a pile of “Giyohang” base (somewhat like a Chirashi-Don but not quite). It was delicious and the seafood is very fresh.
You can decide when to halt eating the Don and ask for broth (a choice of fish bones or miso) to turn your Don into dashi chazuke. The fish broth was nicely tasty and I feel like eating Chiu Chow porridge. I couldn’t finish the carbs.
Finally, to end of a sweet note, I was served green tea plum sorbet. The CP performance is excellent 👍 I would come here again when in...

The salmon addition is a must. The sashimi was so tender and melt in your mouth with an amazing miso sauce.
I found the ikura a little bit too salty and the flavour was more soy sauce than ikura, however the uni is just spectacular, in retrospect I would have just had the uni kaisendon with the salmon sashimi side. Also the raspberry shaved ice was so so perfect, so refreshing and not too sweet!
Worth trying, but as a personal preference I would have the uni and salmon sashimi served on the side…warm uni and warm salmon sashimi from the rice is not as good as cold. Also some plain soy sauce would also have been a welcome addition. Still I give five stars because I did enjoy myself and it’s worth...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem for kaisendon lovers in Busan. I ordered the Aburi Don, which featured a torched medley of premium ingredients like melt-in-your-mouth tuna, salmon, minced shrimp, octopus, and more. I highly recommend adding the salmon sashimi—it took the experience to another level.
The chef was incredible—he spoke fluent English and kindly explained every component, including the proper way to enjoy each item. It felt more like a curated tasting journey than just a meal.
To top it off, we were served fresh tuna sashimi as an appetizer and a refreshing raspberry sorbet for dessert, both included with the meal. Everything was phenomenal—fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavor.
If you’re in Busan and want a standout seafood experience, this spot...
