Haeundae Beach is one of the most famous and popular beaches in South Korea, located in the Haeundae district of Busan. It’s well-known for its long stretch of white sand, clean waters, and its proximity to many attractions, making it a must-visit spot for tourists.
Here are some things to know before going:
Haeundae Beach is busiest during the summer months, especially in July and August, when both locals and tourists come to enjoy the sun and water. If you prefer a quieter experience, it’s better to visit during the off-season or early in the morning.
The beach is about 1.5 kilometers long, offering plenty of space for activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. However, during peak season, there can be large crowds, and designated swimming areas are set up.
Haeundae Beach is surrounded by various cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores, making it easy to grab food and drinks during your visit. Many nearby restaurants serve fresh seafood, which is a local specialty.
There are public facilities available, including restrooms, showers, and changing rooms, though they can be crowded during the high season.
Events and festivals are often held at the beach, such as the Haeundae Sand Festival in summer, where large sand sculptures are displayed, and winter events like the Polar Bear Swim.
Haeundae is a popular nightlife spot as well, with bars, clubs, and restaurants that stay open late, so if you're looking for entertainment after dark, there are plenty of options nearby.
The beach is easily accessible by public transportation, with Haeundae Station (Busan Subway Line 2) just a short walk away.
In addition to the beach, you can visit nearby attractions like Dongbaekseom Island, the Busan Aquarium, and Haeundae Market, making it easy to plan a full day in the area.
The beach is generally family-friendly, with calm waters and lifeguards on duty during the high season, but it's always a good idea to follow safety guidelines, especially when swimming.
If you're visiting during the off-season, the beach is still a beautiful place to take a walk and enjoy the sea views, even if the weather isn't ideal...

I had explored a shrine in Busan, but then I decided to go back near the hotel to Haeundae Beach because I heard it was one of the main tourist attractions in Busan, South Korea, also matching with Gamcheon Village (감천 마을) which is a tourist attraction/village that was built in the 1950s, with colored houses!. I went to Haeundae Beach. This is where most stars perform. Surprisingly, I underestimated the cleanliness. When I came, the Sea of Japan was cleaner than I expected. It's a great place if you want to have fun with family and friends, because its an ocean, if you have children they can just run into the water or just play with the sand while occasionally being interrupted by walking pigeons. I relaxed here from 4 to 6 pm and then when I was on my way to a restauraunt, I saw a drone that was flying all over Haeundae Beach. But then, overall, Haeundae Beach was a great experience and I probably enjoyed the Busan experience for around 4 days before taking an airplane to Seoul, the capital of South Korea to spend some time there. I would definitely come here again. My overall rating
