Gorilla Brewing Co. — Restaurant in Busan

Let me preface this review by saying if you can handle spice and want spicy chicken, then this is a 5 star location. If you can’t handle spice, you should avoid the chicken. My fiance, her mother and I had stomach issues the next morning after having their spicy chicken. It’s not the locations fault it’s just obvious we can’t handle spice. My fiance and her mother are Korea and even they said it was spicy to them. We asked the server if it was spicy, he said it wasn’t, but levels of spice are subjective in the end.

So let’s ignore the aftermath and focus on the actual moments we had dining. The beer was served nice and cold. We each had their lager which we all agreed was good. I also had a shot of their soju which was made in collaboration with Toki Soji and that was really good. I was tempted to buy a bottle to bring back to the US.

The chicken was also very good. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, perfect fried chicken. It was spicy, and it got to the point where we had to peel off the skin just to avoid the spice seasoning.

The atmosphere was great if you are looking to chat with friends and family. We went on a Wednesday night and they were playing American music at a low volume so we were able to all have clear conversations. The location has just two TVs so it’s not a sports bar.

Overall, it’s a good tap room. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area and want beer. They had one lager, one wheat, two stouts, and several IPAs. They really don’t have an extensive food menu with the chicken platter and a pork BBQ platter (also spicy). I would advise come for the beers, and if you can handle spicy food, get...

I am one of the fan of this brewery since I visited the brewery when it is located in Gwangalli area. I come back to Busan again in 2024 and intend to visit the bar for good beer. Then, I found out that the brewery is now relocated to Haeundae area.

We ordered 5 glasses of 2 types of beer in total and I paid the bill at the counter before leaving. I was informed the total amount to be paid. I found out immediately when I received the receipt that it is totally the wrong bill of 6 glasses of 3 types of beer. I, then inform the staff to void the bill and pay the right one.

Good spot. The beer on tap was decent although they were out of a few. I recommend also looking in their fridge they have tall boys that may not be on tap. The bar tender spoke good English and knew his stuff on craft beer was a good chat. Was packed full of yanks both times I went and loud with navy chat which wasn't the greatest atmosphere ( for the record I love the usa and their military but 15 military lads in any one bar is too much haha, pray you dont visit Haeundae when an aircraft carrier...
