Gossine Cheonji Noodles — Restaurant in Seogwipo-si

Ugh… I’m going to dream about this place once I’m home. This restaurant is now on my must eat list in Jeju.

To order: 며고 (myuh-go) 국수 : basically this is their signature noodle soup which is a mix of a anchovy and pork broth hence the name 며 )멸치) + 고 )고기.

수육: saw everyone ordering this and I get it. The meat quality is so so good. But just a heads up they put a good amount of meat in your soup too so if you need to skip something you can skip this.

만두: these take about 7 minutes to get so if you’re in a rush I don’t recommend. But they were really good. Less wrapper and the insides were stuffed with chives, cabbage and pork. Well seasoned.

This noodle spot was such a delight! The anchovy broth was light, clean, and refreshing — not too salty, just perfectly balanced. The noodles had a nice springy texture, and the pork slices were soft and tender, topped with just the right amount of spring onions. The banchan was outstanding — especially the kimchi radish, my favorite so far in Jeju, with a lovely crunch and light sweetness (unlike others that can leave a bitter aftertaste). Food is decent but the wait is terribly long. There is no sign in English that tells you there is a queue system inside the restaurant that you need to register your number so I was waiting outside while several people who arrived after me had gone in to input their number. The staff had seen me but did not care to inform me of the queue system so I spent much longer than I should have standing outside under the sun...
